KZbin is likely legally a monopoly at this point and I wouldn't doubt it if they suppress people that are showing growth so they don't have to pay you. I noticed this a while ago. I’m someone who tends to binge a creators content. And I can point out in most peoples timelines about a year and a half to two years ago when someone made the decision to direct people away from hobby Content because you can just watch the hobby content average views drop off regardless of quality of content.

I totally understand you guys if you are going to make a break. You are really hard workers and it sucks to see you not getting rewarded for this. Especially since your videos are so well-made and are providing such a good educational/entertainment value. As far as I know, subscriptions don't matter anymore. Recommendations do, and also getting trending. It's funny but you gotta get shared outside if the KZbin a lot to get trending (for example get viral). Your videos do get recommended to me, but, no shit, I'm already a subscriber and already gonna watch. And views from shorts and shorts-generated subs don't transfer into long format views and subscribers that actually gonna watch. That's one of the major downsides of the KZbin - quite a few channels have >1 M subs but barely get any regular views. As if all those subs came from accidentally taping sub button instead of scrolling down. And last but not least - it seems that they kind of cut recommendations after a certain point, if I'm interpretating the graphs correctly. I may be wrong or not viewing it thorough enough, but it sounds like it would make more sense for views to follow a natural progress, not to get sudden bursts and plateaus. Either algorithm is broken, or it's working exactly as intended - giving bust in small doses and than stops recommending until the next day, until they kinda fall off. But by no means am I a KZbin Algorithm specialist. Just my wild theories. Anyway, bringing those issues up is doing a God's work. They've already changed the way algorithm works several times, and now it works better than ever, but it still kinda sucks. We all have seen some amazingly funny videos that is, like, 10 years old and author last posted 5 years ago. Makes you think that the author could have used those views 5 years ago, when they still had their enthusiasm. Even if we are wrong and the algorithm works perfectly, I think you are making valid points about this platform in general. Anyway, I'll do my best to support everything that you do to my best abilities.

I blame GW's faux Latin there, that's pure cowardice on their part, however, it doesn't excuse YT. KZbin can be blamed for many things (trend chasing, censoring, bending to government systems, etc, etc), fundamentally YT is broken at it's core level, it would explain a lot, I know I'm saying nothing new here, but I think it's known for a while - even by plebs like me.

youtube is broken very much, they try to squeeze everybody with nothing in exchange - crazy number of absolutely irrelevant ads, illogical system of flagging and demonetising videos, pushing certain topics and "dramatic" video titles, pushing disgusting and absolutely brainless shorts, trying to push worst but popular crap on viewers, making hard to find topics that you may be interested in... I pray for all creators to move to some "normal" platform and just let this garbage to drown in its own hubris. And I think it is happening right now - searching my subscription groups I clearly see that number of new videos is significantly down. GREAT!!!

Being able to live off youtube earnings alone has been impossible for a long time. They've been bleeding money because of how the platform works, all while leeching off the backs and hard work of content creators. If you're going to have to get your own way to earn support like Patreon and others, there is no point to KZbin

You two really motivated me to work harder and harder on my pile of minis, getting into smaller games and just generally think more about how i paint, what i paint and why (the color theory video and legion analysis videos were eye opening). I have noticed on my other channel that if you do not select publish and notify subscribers lately, that actually gets you more people that watch your stuff and sometimes if you make a post with text with a link to your video to your subscribers, that usually gets pushed to your subscribers so you can have news people watch, and then your subscribers get notified

youtube unsubscribes me from channels, subscribes me to random channels and doesnt notify me of peoples videos. Also the default screen is that auto generated slop. KZbin literally pushes scam adverts to us too. Which is why its unusuable without ad blocks

I hate saying this but subscription notifications are broken. Many of us are subscribed but turn off notifications for the app because we get so many for all of our favorite creators

Great video and I like the fact you went for a solution and not a rant. I know it's a bit late but I would like to contribute to the solution. Star wars legion ticks 6 out of 7 catagories and that 7th can be kind of gotten around. Their models are amazing quality, especially their hard plastic kits, some of their earlier stuff is a little weaker but definitely still look good. It's great for casual and competitive and I enjoy playing both aspects. It's great for painters and I've seen lots of different designs and themes created on models. It has awesome lore because well... it's star wars. Great for collectors and can make amazing dioramas. The only one it doesn't really get is converters however there is a massive 3d printing community out there, one big enough to rival 40k's, and has loads of models you can't get officially.

Thanks to Poorhammer, i finally found out that SM comprises 20% of the 40k game in terms of points meanwhile LoV is barely an army and Eldar has to make due with minis so old they can legally drink. No wonder SM is called the subscription faction.

I just started to get into Warhammer and the main reason is because of the Space Marines. They look sick and I like how many different versions of them there are. I bought the 10th edition codex and the lore around them is amazing. Also, Orks are cool!

It was warcry 1st edition that got me into the warhammer hobby. All the chaos warbands fighting for the attention of Archaon was amazing it annoys me to this day they didn't make a bigger deal of it.
