He hit the height of his career with this album, as far as money and popularity goes. MTV glorified and corrupted so many artists. But this was huge. With Stevie Ray Vaughn on guitar and Nile Rodgers putting it all together. You can hardly go wrong with that.

One of South Londons most beloved sons. We knew when he went out into the world, we would not be able to protect him. But what can you do? If you love someone. Set them free. 'God and man.' That was David. Peace out.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned that this was written as a tribute to Little Richard.

Hi Pope! You may have noticed how different this song sounds from the ones you reacted to early on. That's totally intended : imo, this was Bowie telling the world "Thought you had me cornered as an avant-garde moody artsy artist, with deep and impenetrable meanings to each song ? Surprise, motherf****ers 😂 ! I can do classic, dance and commercial pop too (I accept credit cards, by the way) !"

Pope. A hidden bowie gem is his live performance on SNL of TheMan Who Sold the World with Klaus Nomi on backing vocals. its otherworldy. Nirvana famously covered the song.

I cry every single solitary time he so angelically sings....."Something happened on the day he died. Spirit rose a meter and stepped aside. Somebody took his place and bravely cried...I'm a blackstar." Get's me every time!!!!!!. Masterpiece!!!!!!!!

It always makes my day when I catch a brand new Bowie reaction from you ! This entire album and this "Serious Moonlight" tour to my knowledge was his greatest commercial success and the most miserable he was performing the songs that were written for a particular audience. He wrote the songs and Niles Rogers had the big enthusiasm for the project. He said that this was really a Niles song. David didn't normally write to sell albums...after he could.. After he had the means. He went back to pleasing himself musically and never failed me.... I LOVE HIM!!!!!! I have a request..please sir. Can you react to "RIGHT" on the Young Americans album? Thank you!!

Well said Mary, massive fan too, got my first album, Hunky Dory 52 years ago for my tenth birthday and collected most of his stuff over the years including his original 1960s singles/eps before he changed his name to Bowie with some of his earlier bands like, The Manish boys, the lower third, the King bees etc. Still playing all his brilliant work full blast in my car,,,thankfully WE will never see the likes of David Bowie ever again,,I say thankfully simply because they would be a poor imitation of the great Man and that would very sad to see,,,WE HAVE OUR MEMORIES AND ALL OF THE GREAT LEGACY,that David Kindly bestowed on this planet for all prosperity 💔, take care,,Tony

@@anthonydarby3973 Oh, I love meeting fans that came along the journey with this brilliant being at the same time I did..or there abouts.. I was 11 years old..I think?? I'm 62 now. His music has been involved with my life so deeply. I was devastated when he died. I still cry.. You are so right on we will never see another David Bowie thankfully.... I AGREE!! After all, they can try and try but NO ONE will EVER be cooler than David Bowie.

@@anthonydarby3973 I honestly love to watch anyone reacting to Bowie. I especially get all excited when a young person hears him for the first time . I think to myself...glad there is you tube where his genius can be experienced by a new generation. I love when I see that they "get it" and get so frustrated and want to have a one on one talk with the reactor and tell them what they're missing when I can tell they aren't connecting. LOL. I picked up the guitar at age 60 and now I get to play his music for myself. It's been so satisfying. Anyways, I'll see ya around the Bowie reactions....

GOOOOOOOOOOOOD AAAAAAAAANNNNNDDDDDD MAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!! Let’s Dance, The Man Who Sold the World, Saviour Machine, Starman and Wild is the Wind are a few of my favorites by Bowie! Also, since I haven’t seen any ELP reactions lately, might I recommend the suite Ars Longa, Vita Brevis by the Nice? Keith Emerson as always slayed all 19 minutes of it. And really anything by The Nice is fire. I recommend checking them out 😎

Subterraneans (1977) (instrumental) 2. I Would Be Your Slave (2002) (live)kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnyumYmHnMppmck 3. Win (1975) and Right (1975) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqvaaZx6gM6knac (Soul)
