I too have heard this sung at many funerals and have had tears pour from my eyes thinking we were singing this saying farewell to our loved ones. Then I realized that they too were probably singing it to us as a prayer that God would care for us till we joined them at the end of our mortal tenure. I raised 6 kids and have felt that the greatest burden in life would be the loss of a baby, a child. My younger brother, 17 years old, passed away back in August. We played this song at his funeral. I never thought I would lose a brother so soon, but I have such confidence that I will see him again at Jesus' feet.

Sounds like you have not found the right church for YOU. I tried out many different churches before I became a member at a Methodist church in California. Not all churches are like "Jazz Clubs", nor are all churches traditional. THANK GOD for the diversity. As human beings we are all different, and what appeals to one individual does not necessarily appeal to another. I am amazed by all the judgemental comments coming from what I assume are Christians. Find a church that you are comfortable with, that you are inspired by and let others do the same. We don't need to put down folks/churches simply because we don't like the type of music they sing.

I am playing this hymn today because my beautiful and wonderful wife died suddenly and unexpectedly on 5th April 2024 after a very short illness, my wife MRS BERYL LILY GREEN was taken ill late on 2 nd April and died in my arms 7-30am on the 5th April. This hymn was played at BERYL’S funeral and when I die I am going to be buried and BERYL’S ashes are coming with me in my coffin. R.I.P. MY DARLING WIFE, I miss you every seconded of every minute of every day and especially today because you should be celebrating your 87th birthday, happy birthday in heaven and we will meet again one day so I will be able to hold and love you again. I was inactive for about 10 years, straight. My wife became a convert about 2 years into our marriage. She was taking the lessons on our front porch as I was at work and the missionaries were coming by for the “focus 15” to see me and I would just be nice to them but let them know I was not wanting to come back. Little did I know, through the spirit, the missionaries and my wife via Heavenly Father and Christ; I too would be coming back home and be married and in the temple with my new family and wonderful eternal companion. Humbled and grateful is an understatement. There are not the words to express my gratitude and love for my Heavenly Father, Christ, the gospel, my wife and our children!!

WOW? What a beautiful sight! The LDS in my heart every time I see the LDS Choir! I have to look at the LDS every day, In order to know that at eighty-four (84’ years old) my heart is still a place for me to worship Jesus! God bless the Church of Jesus of the Latter Day Saints! It's my mom's 3rd death anniversary this July 20 😭 I was 17 years old and 5 months pregnant when she left us. I am the only member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on our family. I am not mistaken in choosing to be baptized in this church. This hymn was played during my mother's funeral and it gives me strength that soon I can perform ordinance in the temple. Now, my daughter is 2 years old and I am already married, my husband is also a member of the church. I will continue doing the right thing and soon we will be sealed in the temple with my family.
