As long as new revelation doesn't contradict old scripture I totally agree. The Ensign was one of my favorite things to read as a kid because it felt like modern scripture and guidance. I will always listen to what our prophets have to say but if it ever contradicts what's already written, I can reject it. That's the best part about being a member of this church.

the spirit always back up with scripture a lot of scripture and many other confirmations like dreams and visions can help to confirm but a whole lot of people now are not speaking by the Spirit of truth their wells are polluted and need purging so Jesus told me all about who the two witnesses are what they do why how and when and there are over a hundred whole chapters about them and over 5000 other confirmations He gave them. there can be no doubt who they are. they have some new wine to give out.

Wrong assumptions lead to wrong conclusions. Wrong interpretation of scripture lead to wrong beliefs. This is the reason why there are now thousands of Christian churches with differing beliefs and doctrines of salvation because of their own uninspired interpretations from the same Bible.

The Bible is a vessel of scripture. But the Bible itself… the binding around the scriptures… is of man. What it contains is of God. To call the Bible or any other book of scripture the end of Gods spoken word is to do as The Israelites did that caused Jeremiah to rebuke them in Jeremiah 2:13, forgetting the Lord and hewing out cisterns of water. Or as Moses in Exodus 16:18-20 commanding them to eat of the mana according to their eating (hand to mouth) and store nothing up. The word of God is not bound.

It’s not that most Christians don’t agree the book or Mormon is gospel, it’s that in the book of Mormon there are several man made desires slipped in that it’s clearly not written in full by Divinity. You all heard about the lust and promises of virgins that are waiting for a Mormon man who follows Joseph through the gates of heaven.

There are a lot of strange rumors. Lust is frowned upon by the savior. We hold to all the principles of the gospel, and believe that we can be perfected in Jesus Christ. If you are giving into lust or any other sin, like accusing thy brother falsely for example it leads to misery.
