I LOVE the addition of Zeus slowly getting more upset/angry as Athena convinces everyone, and I adore the fact that Hepehestus wears a mask. He was supposed to be deformed and ugly, so wearing a mask to hide it makes sense. Loved the fight between Ares and Athena, espesically since their both two sides of the same coin. Athena is the mind behind war, while Ares is the heart.

I love Athena growing annoyed and tripping Apollo, I love how she had a beast fight with Ares, and I love how small she was in comparison to Hera. One other detail I liked was the gradual portrayal of Zeus' anger. The more individuals that Athena convinced, the more sour his' expression became, and the darker the clouds around him grew (when originally, they were all so colorful). AND ZEUS' FACE AT THE END WHEN ATHENA WAS PLEADING WITH HIM- IT LOOKED ALMOST HESITANT AND A BIT GUILTY.

I do love when people have Zeus have that moment, then Athena doesn't give up and is just begging him to let Odyssius go home. Like yes, Zeus is pissed and prideful, but Athena is often one of his favorite children, which makes sense since she is technically his first from his first wife. And that moment of him seeing just how far he let his rage take him and him realizing that he went too far is touching. I know Zeus is a dick in the myths, but that's cause the Greeks had their gods be more human, not paragons of Virtue. They can go full wrarhful and lose themselves in anger, but then come back down and realize they messed up.

Oooh I love the designs here, Zeus and Athena's base form looking very bird esque while zeus has hair of clouds and Athena(possibly) has olive over her face. Apollo looking almost like a satyr, Aphrodite looks almost aquatic or fish like which I mean she did come from sea foam even with the floral motif still, with Ares just being the most beastial of them all(Adore that split second of Aphrodite just loving seeing him go wild). Hephaestus being a personal favorite of being the most human of all the gods in design and i'd argue personality since his complaint is Ody sacrificing men who trusted him, and lets him go because he knows Ody still has loved ones who need him. Then Zeus turning into a dragon, the most prideful and arrogant of beasts. Then that final flicker of expression on his face like 'do I reeeeeeally wanna kill my favorite kid' Sorry about the word dump but I just really like the unique designs and expressions hah

I think this is actually straight up the best storyboarding on an animatic of this song I've seen. Scenes illustrate lyrics well (Apollo having Sirens in his "court" and Hephestus having a depiction of scylla on his wall) it actually uses physicality to strengthen the push and pull of some of the discussions (Specifically Apollo's verse having him cavorting around Athena before being tripped and grabbed by her while she made her point) it genuinely feels like there's not a single panel "wasted". I also love the monster form ideas and also appreciate that even the base forms are a little "alien".

The best part about the Athena's appeal to Aphrodite and Ares? What Odysseus did when he returned to Ithaca applied to both their points. In order to protect those closest to his heart, those who inspired him to go through the hell of the odyssey, he made the halls bleed from the massacre of Penelope's suitors. Makes me wish we could've seen how these five reacted to the slaughter of the suitors, honestly. XD

What I love about god games and this animatic specifically is how Athena responded to Hephaestus. Because what Athena said sounds awfully similar to what happened to Hephaestus, and when she said “if you make the right decision, he can still build a future with those who miss him” I think she was also saying “I miss you as my brother but what you do here is gonna change my opinion of you forever” and in the end, Hephaestus wanted to Have His sister love him not hate him. By the looks of it, the animators had the same opinion and I think they portrayed it very well. Also, love the Ares design. Really Reminds you that he’s the representative of Bloody, Savage war.

Also I noticed something interesting, whenever the topic of Scylla is enough up, Athena seemingly intentionally brings up something else (Either mentioning what happened AFTER as a result of his own actions or saying 'Bring him back and he'll make it a bloodbath when he gets home'- almost as if she can't excuse that, and being the Goddess of Wisdom that she is, uses another topic to convince the gods

I like that even as humanoids none of the gods are fully humanoid even the most beautiful like Aphrodite. To me it just feels good for the idea even when Gods walk among humans and take forms to do so they just simply AREN'T able to fully contain their nature. Not necessarily exactly how things are describe int he traditional myths and such but such a fun concept you execute so well here and it gives you such unique designs in both forms for your god designs. Great job! EDIT: Also Hera feels so very motherly here towards Athena, love that too.

This one’s gonna be my choice for canon God Games. Not only for the shifting emotions, the animal forms, and baby Telemachus, but for the end. Those last 5 seconds where she begs Zeus to free him and starts falling unconscious you can see in his eyes that moment where he snapped out of the rage and realized “Oh shit, I might have just killed my daughter!” No doubt in my mind with the concern in his eyes at the end he didn’t immediately bundle her up and rush to Hermes for help.
