I think News from Heaven is a great addition to Swedenborg and Life. Curtis, you are so talented at making things understandable. I am a retired preschool teacher and have said more times than I can count that I rather spend my day with children than do anything else. It's easy to be happy when your're around children because they're always ready for fun and excited to see you. The best form of innocence. I look forward to forward to Thursdays show. Thank you for a great show, Ellen Potter
@offTheLeftEye5 жыл бұрын
How wonderful to hear from you, Ellen! Your message inspired me to do some digging...here's a fascinating entry from Swedenborg's spiritual diary, describing how little children are educated in heaven. It highlights the role of educators in the afterlife well. PS- Swedenborg labels these educators as nurses, but I think that title is used broadly to describe those who teach and lead children. THE EDUCATION OF INFANTS. (1) They are with nurses whom they call their mothers. (2) They read the Lord's Prayer, and learn prayers from the nurses, by means of influx out of heaven. (3) There are preachers for them. (4) Intelligence, and wisdom too, inflows, which excels the intelligence of the learned in the world, although they have only a childish idea about those things. (5) There are with them representatives out of heaven. (6) They are dressed according to their industry, principally with flowers and garlands. (7) They are led into paradises. (8) They are tempted. (9) They grow in accordance with the state of reception. (10) They are of diverse dispositions. (11) Nurses are appointed them who have loved infants in the world who, also, are like mothers and there is granted them a perception as though they were their own babies: but this is not granted to others than those who are in good, and are able to receive influx out of heaven. (12) Those infants who have been brought up there, do not know otherwise than that they were born in the other life. (13) They do not know what time is, what space is, and such terrestrial matters. (14) Within a month, they speak the angelic tongue.

Thank you so much for your videos. ❤️ You seem to want to hear from us. Most channels kind of skim through their comments and don't reply much. So... I'm not a Christian any more, but I love God with everything that I am, and pray to Him every day and night about everything that happens in my day. (My friend jokes and calls me a Jew. lol) (I joke and tell her that I skip the middle man and get straight to the source.) I tried so hard to be a good Christian, but never felt that truth or innocence in any church I went to. Not just Catholic. I was searching my whole life! A few years ago, by some miracle, I broke through to God! Or God broke through to me. Or He met me where I was. That was the most truth I have ever felt. It was the most holy time in my life. Strange wonderful things happened right after that. I was able to hear music in the sounds around me, which never happened before. I threw All of my alcohol in the trash and haven't had any alcohol to drink for 3 1/2 years now. God took all cravings and withdrawals away from me in one moment! The Grace that He bestowed upon me was unexpected, and I did not deserve it, but God rid me of my past abusive memories and replaced them with Love and Truth and Innocence. So every day now, I ask God what I can do for Him. I know when He is working through me when I feel that Truth and Innocence in every fiber of my being. And sometimes goosebumps too. Lol! Maybe the more of your videos I watch, the more Christ I will experience. Maybe I was going about it all wrong. But with God alone, that's where my Truth comes from. I've had lymphedema in my right leg since 1981. It has swollen to the size of a tree trunk. I also have Asperger's. Both of those conditions keep me away from social situations. Still, I pray for every person I come into contact with and ask God to give them a special blessing. So His love is radiating out like in your drawings. I don't know why I spilled all of this out to you. But I look forward to learning more from you and the Swedenborg Foundation. Thank you so much again. ❤️🙏

The importance of innocence is deeply profound. Particularly as the marriage of good and truth, as it is the ideal union of duality between identity and reality, which together form the most essential delineation of experience. So thank you for the reminder to give attention to meaningful things. That part with the clouds weighing in, halfway through (13:06), was brilliant.

I love how much you hyped up the oncoming paragraph, seemingly without really knowing its contents, since you're doing your job as an Innocence salesman. After illustrating the omnipresence of God (!!!) you say, "We just had a definition of the Emanation of.. God, and we're only a couple sentences in here." (15:09) Correction: That was one sentence, which you exploded into a couple sentences. Suggestion: If you gonna draw God with all those colors, where's the green at?? Complete the rainbow, bro! "Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. I really enjoy the new show. One of my darkest clouds comes from that I have a lot of physical and emotional problems including chronic pain, hearing loss with bad tinnitus, depression, and now macular degeneration in both eyes, and my job is ending in March. The cloud tells me this is all punishment for my spiritual failures. I have refused to see and hear and do what I’m supposed to, so these things are taken from me. Yet, what a cruel God that would be. These are hellish thought for how cruel would God have to be to do this to someone. I love love love the picture of God that you and Swedenborg create. It gives me hope and I can make the choice to connect to God’s love instead of the clouds condemnation. You help people.

We are watching the fig leaf shoot, now is the time, we must be awake to the times. ( This is a difficult but vital subject.) Wise love always heads to the vital. Also would love some examination of the Ohdner's and their fantastic, long time, scholarly admiration of Swedenborg. I love their books. 'The golden age' and the 'Spiritual World' if I remember correctly. There are others, as well. Swedenborg's 'Arcana Coelestia' is a mine full of giant gemstones. There are flawless rubies the size of one's fist, there are emeralds, there are sapphires, there are diamonds and masses of gold. All you need is a nice little pick, a bucket, a headlamp, and a gigantic amount of patience, time and stubborn fortitude. Talk about Swedenborg fatigue!! However, those gemstones make earthly wealth look like useless trash. Put away your Swedenborg fatigue, you will emerge with deep gratitude to the man who shows us such wealth. Thanks so much Curtis, my heart leapt half a dozen time as I listened to you.

Wow, you are such an amazing teacher. The way you chunk down otherwise dense writing, and explain it in such a playful manner is a true talent, and may I say, a moving expression of innocence. Thank you! This episode reminded me of a very famous book by Zen master Shunryu Zuzuki entitled 'Zen mind, Beginner's mind'. I think what he meant by that expression is very close to the concept of innocence. To cultivate a 'beginner's mind', no matter how experienced one is, is an expression of innocence. Don't you think?
@offTheLeftEye5 жыл бұрын
I'm overwhelmed by your kind and encouraging message! And yes, there does seem to be a marvelous parallel between a "beginner's mind" and the innocence Swedenborg describes. I'm reminded of this passage from Swedenborg: "If we fail to acknowledge that what we do not know amounts to infinitely more than what we do know, we cannot experience the holy ignorance of the angels. Holy ignorance does not consist in knowing less than other people but in admitting that we know nothing on our own and that the things we do not know infinitely outnumber the things we do know. It consists especially in acknowledging that facts and intellectual pursuits are far less important than heavenly concerns; in other words, what we understand is far less important than how we live." What do you think?
@mauriciosierra-siegert75315 жыл бұрын
@@offTheLeftEye Thank you very much for the inspiring passage. I think innocence can be defined in terms of both an absence and a presence. An absence of knowledge, of malice, of corruption, of harmful intentions etc. But what I like about the 'beginner's mind' perspective, is that it also alludes to a quality being present: a freshness of mind, a willingness to be led, a gratefulness to whatever a situation provides, a sense of wonder, and a positive appreciation of uncertainty.

I can't remember which video it was on (I've watched so many, now, over a short period of time,) but, in one of them, Jonathan explained how he combats his tendency toward road rage by shouting, "I hope you go to the highest level of heaven!" at offending drivers. It sounds totally silly, but I actually tried it out (bad drivers are/were a particular annoyance of mine.) I want to share that it really worked for me! I eventually modified the expression to say, "May God pour out his Spirit on you!" (that is more in line with my thinking, as I figure that a pouring out of the Spirit can mean that the person actually changes behaviors in THIS life, hehe)...but, remarkably, I found that, as I did this for a few weeks, my road rage gradually disappeared! I hardly react, anymore, when drivers do dumb things in front of me, and this is after a history of being so mad about it that my kids would say, "geeze, mom!" when riding in the car with me :)

... also, right now I am a mystical or gnostic Christian vis a vis Jesus, so innocence means more to me, and the point I made to you about 1-6 year olds from Dr. Bruce Lipton in the last episode #2 of this. Cheers!

Really loving the new shows. Some things I struggle with-- That God is disappointed in me...loves, me, maybe even likes me...but still disappointed in my weaknesses and failures. I keep thinking I will go to heaven, but will spend about the first 1000 years of eternity in "spiritual special ed" and haunted by the things I did to harm others but not be able to fix them. Cognitively, I know that Swedenborg tells me this is not so. But I think this where the dark shadows know I am vulnerable. Perhaps that is the bigger question...Does Swedenborg say anything about how they know where and how to attack? Does the kind of attack or persistence give us a clue on how to deal with them? Thanks. Grateful for all the content you all work so hard on.

Matt, God basically gives you a (painful, perhaps. Many say it is) life review and let’s it go at that. He knows that, at least from now on, you are doing good for your family and others and dealing with the pain here on earth as best you can. It can cause you some pain on arriving in Heaven because you actually FEEL yourself any pain that accrued to others by your behavior. This is also the Kabbalistic version of Hashem (Jehovah) in the, of course eternal, hereafter. 👍

We are no longer under law but under grace therefore each day you awake there's new grace a clean slate to try and be good again...the enemy tries to make us feel guilty to think that God doesn't love us because we mess up all the time...continue to strive to be the best you, you can be and know that God loves you.

Matt, I have come to believe that we are all one-separation is an illusion. We have all come from the consciousness of God, and thought preceeds form. So, your own judgement is what makes you suffer. When you understand that ego (the programming that you are in based on the belief of being separate) is what feels disapproval, not your true self, that is hidden in God. For me, this understanding has freed me from the cloud of dark thoughts. You came here to expand, and a part of that expansion, or growth, requires the contrast. You have learned so much through the negative experiences, and that is what matters. God did not send us here to perfect ourselves, but our egos want to feel in control so perfection is an ego game. All is well-and truly you are loved completely-you are not a disappointment.

You need not worry about your state of being, you are determined to be True to yourself and others, and this is why you struggle with imperfection within. The question driving your confusion in and of itself shows a real concern for the welfare of being.

I have been there. Just fragile feeling. If you told me this in real life I would suggest you watch OTLE videos...but you're already here so you know how it helps!

My heart goes out to you, Helen! Sometimes our spiritual state is a fragile one, like Joy says. Being able to simply acknowledge the state we're in and how we're feeling is a good first step. I find accepting the state I'm in helps me to soften to heavenly input about what would be helpful and ways I can care for myself. Wishing you peace and comfort! ❤️

Is it bad to say I like this show better than Swedenborg and Life? I mean they kind of piggy back each other but I feel like this one is exactly what I need right now. One thing I always wondered is how can people destroy innocence, whether it's molestation or shooting up an elementary school and now it makes perfect sense. These are demons convincing humans to do such atrocities. The spiritual world can only interfere with this world through us. But Swedenborg said possessions didn't happen anymore right? Influence from hell can be so strong it takes over the person. Or perhaps the person is so dead (spiritually) that they are just a walking shell which allows demons to just take over their bodies.

"Is it bad to say I like this show better than Swedenborg and Life?" Not at all. We hope that having a couple of different offerings on the channel will reach people in different ways, in the way that is needed at the time! You are so right that demons convince people on earth to do atrocities, like attacking and abusing children. Swedenborg saw them! Possessions cannot happen any more against a person's will, so they will happen through people who are freely willing to act on those impulses, or through mental illness that inhibits a person's rational ability to choose.

Did Swedenborg ever say anything about people having sadness, anger, frustration or regret from things that have happened in their past that they simply can NOT change? I have a young friend who is not seeking a 'fix' for what she perceives as having been 'done' to her, but other than patting her on the back and sympathizing with her which is all she wants, I would rather let her see the whole picture differently from 'my' perspective ... the whys and the wherefores. I know that would be meddling and probably not helpful to her, but I'm at a loss as to what the better way is to approach this subject.

Hi Linda, I would pass along this video, with the emphasis on the intro until 4 minutes. I hope that helps! kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6W1c5-fmdeSq7M

Is "Heaven and Hell" a good Swedenborg book to start with if you haven't read any of his other stuff on your own?
@offTheLeftEye5 жыл бұрын
That is his most popular book! So that could be a good one to start with. Did you know we made a short video talking about Swedenborg and his different books? You may find this useful in making a choice: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnbEYZhudsiGbZo

I reme'tmber when I got married, something was telling me not to marry this man. It didn't work out, and he ran off with a woman he was with for the rest of his life, he wanted a women that gave him a bad time, I don't want to argue - I do think there are people meant to be - for different reasons.

You might call that Providence at work, judy. Hopefully you can see God's leading as you look back at that scenario.

Connecting with others or your true self, is the best way to do this. Whether it be networking for a business, networking with friends that share your ideals, and/or realizing that you have everything you need.

For some, wealth enhances their happiness, for others, it brings a lot of problems. Find something that you love to do, and then you can have a happy life no matter how much money you have.
