Helpful hints: you can block almost anything, including arrows. If you press X while climbing a wall you’ll move faster. Now that you’re past the treadmill with the big square stone 2:00:56 the trick to it is to use the gorgon gaze to turn the enemies to stone. This way they’ll be frozen and won’t technically be dead until they teach the blades so they won’t respawn. This buys you lots of time to maneuver the stone into place. I’m glad you’re enjoying the music. All of the God of War games were scored by Bear Mcreary who has also scored The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Black Sails and many others.

Another great video Julia! I really appreciate you taking the time to play through the original God of War. Watching you play through Mass Effect brought back fun memories for me of playing the trilogy in high school/college and now seeing you play this brings back good memories of playing this in middle school, so thanks for the nostalgia hit 🙂 If you want more recommendations for other classic PS2 games to try, I recommend Kingdom Hearts 1+2, Okami, and Shadow of the Colossus. You should probably use more the break shields attack, it gives extreme damage and you can start it safely like 10 m away from your targets just blasting them with that final break shield attack.

2:17:56 The first 2 Gears are among the finest games ever made. They lost me with 3 but I think most fans like 3. That said, I will take God of War over Gears of War. It’s kinda silly to compare them though because they have quite literally nothing in common beyond “of War” in their name and being hyper violent, although Gears is considerably more violent.

I still have the OG God of War and GoW 2 on the old PS2, system and all. Nice to see someone experiencing a true classic for the first time.
