I think that is far from 'heroic' in context to who Kratos is and how he doesn't give a sh1t about saving these ppl and is only doing it because of him serving the Gods and even in admist of it... Kratos still ruthlessly an old man just for the sake of it.

Very useful, I'm currently making Kratos' weapons and magic in D&D (want to make it accurate instead of renaming and watering it down to it's basic functions) being able to see all of the moves and how they play out is really helpful. Can't wait for GOW 2 so I can make them even more detailed.

The blades might be hella in depth with like 4 movesets in one game (because they decided to add elements to it) in addition to all the other weapons that he just seems to throw away after each game

Blade of artemis was gone after ares sucked it up in his dimension, barbarian hammer and spear of destiny were gone when kratos travelled back in time because back then he didnt have them and in the zeus cutscene we see all his weapons on the ground as he punches zeus, he put them down. Ok wait now that you say it, I guess he did throw his weapons away but only once

Oh hey! That QTE with Ares is the same as Kratos' finisher in Soul Calibur Broken Destiny! I never finished GOW1 so I didn't know the Soul Calibur finisher was an homage to this QTE. That's awesome

1:51 you missed one or two after that, It's HOLD L1 + (HOLD) ○, and you must press Hold the ○ button the way you press the L1 button for blocking. It does wider & stronger Damage and could be performed in both Ground & Air. And one of my favourite moves.

Greatly appreciated the video. Looking forward for God of War 2. While the second installment has my favorite variety of weapons, GOW3 has the best iteration of the combat system of the Greek God of War Saga. They considerably refined the core gameplay and improved many mechanics from past entries; its a shame we never got to see how far the OG GOW combat system could have gotten since it changed with the Norse Saga but it still holds a special place for me.

I dont know if god of war 3 is the best one. Its kinda hard to pick for me. First off, in 3 the collisions dont scale anymore, the orion harpoons cannot be redirected like in 1, they removed deep hits, no more petrification system, the claws of hades arent that useful other than magic sometimes and breaking shields with the cestus glitch. They do have added stuff like hyperions grapple which is good and the weapons clearly serve a purpose. Well except for hades claw. The cestus are heavy damage dealers, and the nemesis whip is for set ups. However in gow 1 and 2, you had more ring outs. Stuff that was exlusive to 1 was the orion harpoon being able to redirect, causing a full collision. The blade of artemis is a damage dealer and also had a fun trick to easily ring out enemies. In gow 2 you had the damn barbarian hammer which also deals alot of damage and is the damage dealer but the spear of destiny which as the nemesis whip, is a set up weapon but it has an attack where you can launch up and shoot an enemy away, making for good ring outs. Oh also if you simply had the barbarian hammer equipped, killing an enemy would grant rage orbs and if you had spear of destiny equipped, you would get magic orbs which made for variaty depending on what you had to fill up next. I cant really pick a favourite one but saying gow3 is the best one is arguable

Hey, good to see someone who has more in-depth knowledge of the games. I also disagree about GoW 3 being the best. I would rank it slightly above GoW 1 (both are excellent, though), but GoW 2 is noticeably better. Also, petrification wasn't removed, it was just made much worse. You can select the Gorgon soul from the menu, the problem however is that you can't select your enemies before using it, and it costs too much MP. Though the ability to use a Gorgon execution to petrify everyone in the area was pretty good. They also added the item bar, which is good, and I like every weapon having a different dodge. Not to mention the grapple and being able to ride beasts. And of course the Battering Ram, which is apparently the reason why collisions were nerfed. Still, while that is a flaw, considering how much the game is balanced around BR, I don't view it as a major issue. Orion Harpoon is a more serious problem, though, due to inconsistent hit detection, and some of its varieties not even damaging enemies even when they should. I don't think GoW 3 has less ringouts, they seem pretty plentiful to me, thanks to both the BR and the grapple allowing you to knock out multiple enemies. I think the Claws were good, and they have some interesting properties, not to mention the variety of magic attacks you can use. And other stuff like the Cestus glitch, ot being able to cancel one of its special moves into a super jump. Still could have been made more distinguishable from the Blades in terms of basic moveset, though.

​@@zapan8748for me... using the shield slam and mixing a glitch with using all of the Triangle finishers of different elements makes Ascensions combat system imo the deepest but when it comes to pain + playthroughs... ppl who have more knowledge than me about all the hidden aspects within the combat system of GOW Ascension makes it comparable to GOW 3 or maybe even worse but for me, the movesets and how you can utilise them outweighs the negatives

1. Blades of Chaos : Two Chained-Daggers created by Ares from The Depth of Tartarus. 2. Rage of the Gods : The Power that imbued Blades of Chaos with the Divine power from the Gods, allowing extra Damage. 3. Blade of Artemis : The Large Sword used by Artemis and given to Kratos. Allow him to do some Hevay attack slashes. 4. Poseidon's Rage : Magic Given by Poseidon. Allow Kratos to summon current of electricity to devastate his enemies. 5. Medusa's Gaze : Gain from Killing Medusa for Aphrodite. Allowing Kratos to use Medusa's head to petrify his enemies into stones. 6. Zeus's Fury : Power given by Zeus. Allow Kratos to summon Lightning bolts and throw it to his enemies. 7. Army of Hades : Magic given by Hades. Allow Kratos to summon the souls of the Underworld to attack his enemies.

Fun fact: Hermes fury works just like any other move after parrying (Hades Ravenge), just press R1, R1 and then triangle, square or R1

So interestingly, Apollo's Acension, Lance of the Furies and Rising Helios/Falling Helios got replaced and or removed in the sequel. Lance of the Furies became Rampage of The Furies. Rising Helios/Falling Helios became Tartarus Rage. Whereas Apollo's Ascension was entirely cut. There is no L1 + X combo in God Of War 2. Mind you I'm playing both 1 and 2 at the same time and both my blades are Level 4.

Btw, I believe you didn't cover all Orion Harpoon and air grab variants. IIRC, those grabs change depending on the enemy you're fighting: some of them can be grabbed over and over, others can't. Btw, fun fact: the Satyr air grab is completely useless, as it does 0 damage. That was fixed in GoW2

That is nice surprise god of war surprising has few moveset videos Just to try to help a little a Bayo 3 has some secrete weapons and demons that being alarune that u need to find all the umbram tears in one chapter no sure which Cassiopeia you need to beat the fighr against arch eve afeter the end the story rodin just like in the other games and bayo1 and 2 you need save data from the other games.

Do me a favor. Have the Blades of Chaos fully upgraded for the first boss fight (Fury and Hecatoncheires) in Ascension. Always bugged me on how they didn't make them look fully upgraded
