35:52 - I love this little detail - Kratos is not omniscient. Faye one-upped him, by telling him she had marked trees for her pyre. In reality, she had put down a protection stave, using her mark as the ward. She knew Kratos would never believe Atreus to be ready, so she forced his hand by getting him to destroy her ward. Kratos finally realizes this, and it is bittersweet.

I cannot, even, explain how much I loved this game. The changes in his character, the ties to LEGITIMATE MYTHOLOGY, the whole way things tie together to give you that “oh shit” kinda vibe. Bro it’s a fucking game, but god I feel like it’s a life. It’s amazing. This is the type of shit I like seeing in game companies and in games. In my opinion, this even tops the Witcher 3 for me. Stranger knocks on Kratos’ door looking for trouble, Kratos tells him to leave but stranger doesn’t want too, the old Kratos would have ripped his head off. The scene that really showed it to me was in Helheim. When he's finished removing the bridge keepers heart he takes a moment to rest his hands on it in a grateful manner. It always stood out to me the most, that Kratos cares enough about life that he'd offer his condolences or thanks in even that situation. The man really doesn't want to take life anymore, he's just forced to out of necessity.

Baldur is spoiled and cocky because of his curse. Knowing he can't die, he just bullies his opponents into submission. It's why he sits there and let's you hit him. Very clever how the Santa Monica Team rolled the Norse mythos into this established universe. **SPOILER WARNING** The reveal that Atreus is Loki was well done - as in fact the Loki from the official mythos is half Jötunn just like Atreus. But then that got me thinking, of what significance is Atreus' mother in the official mythos - is she a made-up character for the game? I'd never heard of Faye in the Eddas before. Then it dawned on me - "Faye" is just a clever nickname for Loki's Jötunn mother from the official mythos: Lau"faye" / Laufey. Well done Santa Monica Team, well done 😤👏👏

I started the game last night. I am IMPRESSED thus far. Kratos's transformation from an angry vengeful jerk (please don't kill me) to a more calm person who's not as angry as before is astounding! The REALLY big thing that touched me more is the soundtrack! Oh my god! It's more eerie and more...touching in a way than its predecessors. As a lover of Norse mythology, I'm in LOVE with this game. Baldur's god ability is being able to talk with a mouthful of Kratos' fist. The first fight with Baldur at the beginning was frustrating because he wasn't shutting tf up and he wasn't saying what he came for either.

@@pedro6720 There isn't. The stories changed as the times did, as the people who told them died, as the people from scandivania conquered or got conquered. So there's not a true source, it changes each time the stroy is told it. 1000 years from now the original could be lost to time and the only source for the story of the nordic gods could be the MCU or this game. I hope is the latter.

Today's gaming cinematic stories are much better than most movies and the writing especially with good talented developer make watching all these long movies seem short because it's good. Indeed Anastasia. Kratos could very well have lived several lifetimes before this story happens; he has far greater experience with being hunted than Atreus would know.

Its because the 'boy' is not ready and is cursed with the spartan rage that kratos has. Hence why you see him cough every time he gets mad. He wants him to be level-headed to not to repeat the same mistakes he himself made

I'm watching the full play through and not the movie, and it's so good i nearly want to stop and go buiy a ps4. I just don't play video games much, sold my ps4 years ago. This is so good though. I'll just watch it, not worth it. One hell of a game, possibly imo so far one of the best games ever.

Hmmm for me personally the movie is always more enjoyable, but this is definitely one of the rare exceptions were I wouldn't get bored of a full playthrough. Even when walking to the next locations they are constantly talking about their past and about lore that it keeps you interested

Prime is taking the mantle and I hope that they cook. The Boys, Reacher hell even Fallout was amazingly well-done for an video game adaptation so with Prime taking GOW to a tv series would be on some GOT, 300 movie type hype levels and I hope that they give the story the massive respect it deserves
