Fun Fact: Verdandi referred to Kratos as “Cruel Striker” during his fight with the first guard at the Well of Urd. In Norse mythos, Loki’s father’s name is Fárbauti. Which literally translates to “Cruel Striker.” In Old Norse language, “Cruel Striker,” Fárbauti, is a kenning used to refer to lightning. Where “Laufey,” Loki’s mother, means “Leaf Island” and is a kenning for a pile of dry leaves. So when lightning ‘strikes’ a pile of dry leaves, you get (drumroll,) a WILD FIRE.
