I got a few questions so did Kratos get his strength when he first received the blades of chaos because after seeing what he can do he could’ve taken out the whole Barbarian army. Also in GOW II he literally was about to kill Zeus but Athena got in the way, so why does he need the box in 3? Or is it implied somewhere that the blade can’t kill him? My last question is is Zeus unable to take gods full power because seeing how he had to trick Kratos to put all his god’s power in the blade shouldn’t he not have the power of a Demi god as well? ( sorry for the grammar was too lazy to go back)

I do believe his potential as Demigod awaken when he got the blades. I'm sure Ares gave him a power boost too but He didn'T expect him to become that strong. For Zeus, is a good question. If I remember right, Hephaestus told him to use the Flame of Olympus since it could kill any god. Zeus have survived being stab by the Blades of Athena and the blade of Olympus. So I think Kratos though he need something stronger. And last question, I think he only took the powers of the god of war that he gave Kratos. He put half into the Colossus and made Kratos put half into the blade. Then the blade adsorbed the other half when He killed the colossus. Therefore all the power of the god of war was put into the blade. But the abilities Kratos was born with stood there with him. This is just my Hypothesis.
