That's one thing Cory has absolutely gotten right since he returned for 2018 about God of War, like how Dragon Ball will always be Goku, God of War will always be Kratos. I'm sure they would love to do a spin off of Atreus, but all it will be is a spin off, it will never be a true God of War sequel.

They don’t see the vision, Atreus has the potential to be even cooler & more relatable than kratos just off of his abilities alone but I can imagine him being like his own version of nightwing to Batman. Idk how to explain but i definitely see the story and character potential with Atreus becoming a young adult or full adult, I could even see them giving Atreus some possible stealth gameplay with him being more lightfooted and acrobatic then kratos

The hate around a game centered on Atreus is just weird. Why do you think it would be exactly like the ragnarok missions? They were in new territory with a second playable character and while the missions are boring after the first time, he was a really smooth character who flowed really well. He would obviously be older and have a wider arsenal if they did follow through with it.

I think people think Atreus will be scripted as a young man… and his dialogue is a little whinny… I think if they develop a strong story about Loki with mature themes and character building, it will be terrific. But, if they make a story around coming of age with whining and complaining without deep introspection of what occurred throughout the events of the story, you will have a very superficial narrative that people are worried about. I think it’s concern over the tone of the story.

An Atreus game could be sick, age him 5-10 years enhanced game mechanics obviously, and the series could run side by side Kratos games. That way there isn’t such massive gaps between the time we get to play in this world. At the end of Ragnarok remember Atreus said "there are more Giants out there and it's my responsibility to find them." In the next game Atreus is going to journey to Egypt and find the last remaining Giants in disguise as Hebrew slaves. Atreus will free them and become a Moses figure like in the bible. I wanna ask y’all, where do you guys think they could take Kratos as a character? I feel like he’s kinda been through it all and is fully fledged out as a character now. Of course they’ll fledge out Atreus more and Kratos should be a part of that but if we stick with Kratos for the rest of time, how will they make that work? How will they keep people engaged and intrigued with every new entry? I guess I could be thinking too deep into it but I feel like if we’re gonna keep playing as Kratos and go through the Egyptian mythos with him, and so on they gotta find ways to keep people interested. Unless people are fine with how Kratos is and he doesn’t need to be further developed but instead they could focus on making all the other characters really interesting and good since Kratos is already a great character. Sorry for the long comment but I genuinely just wonder.

If you do a bit of research, or know anything about the God of War series, you'll find that every game has a different director. Cory Barlog is the only returning one. He did GOW2 and 2018. The next one will be another new director.

I really enjoy Atreus combat tbh, his combo style similar to fast and decisive Nero in DMC4. Even tho Atreus walkthough in Ironwood is definitely boring, but I cant say the same as other section of Atreus gameplay, such a blast and fresh feeling when I start create my own combo in NG+ I really wish him has another weapon other than a bow in Ragnarok like an Ingvi sword, but im looking forward to see Santa Monica cooking for Atreus own game

I personally feel that future God of War games will be remakes of the Greek Saga while future stories that continue the story will be covered in the Atreus spin-off series. I'd love Atreus to be accompanied by Tyr who will help locate the Jotunn in other mythologies. The first mythology I hope they cover is Celtic mythology as that has been known to have giants too.
