it's interesting how theres such a huge contrast between the consequences of killing gods in the norse and greek games. in greek mythology the gods hold everything together, being the watchers and protectors of their titles while in norse mythology they're just there, not serving much purpose except to protect the people and make sure nothing bad happens in the nine realms. It's really interesting when you think about how Kratos is so worried about the consequences of Atreus killing gods, because he's not particularly afraid of incurring their wrath he's instead worried of destroying yet another place he calls home.

To be fair Greek gods influence the world so their death is much more significant. Norse gods are much less privy to influence the world as much as they are a part of it. Thor was thunder, Odin was knowledge, magni was brutality and force. Modi was bravery and courage. Baldur was the only significant god he killed that could have an adverse effect but even so no direct effect would cause like Poseidon and Helios

Even tho the Greek gods were jerks to Kratos in GOW 3 you could see they did not really want to kill Kratos more like defend their home and Helios,Hermes,Poseidon,Zeus in each encounter try to reason with Kratos at some point in their battles but Kratos was blinded by rage and sick of them insulting him and his pain so he was not hearing nothing but kill them all

From what I remember the only ones who was reasoning with Kratos was Athena and Poseidon, and the rest of them was just digging for their own graves, (excluding aphrodite and all other gods that aren't being involved) especially with Hermes and Helios, and Hera they were just asking for it. Hence explains why he could kill all of the gods. If Athena wielded if herself, she technically could've used it far better than Kratos did. After all, Athena is not called Goddess of Wisdom and WARFARE for nothing. But lore wise, why would Athena murders her family? No incentives/motivation for her to do so lul.

I prefer Ascension as a game over the new ones. Kratos looks far better here,the sheer andrenaline makes you war cry with Kratos while playing,the character moments dont feel pretentious,i prefer TCarsons voice,the gameplay is superior,they dont speak like modern people cause they are NOT etc.These games are HONEST,they feel REAL. I want all Post 2018 players to play these games and understand they were better. However i am still happy for the story nowadays and i am happy for the love and respect they give Kratos. But i simply dont enjoy the new games as much,i can enjoy them but its not the same. I have replayed this game dozens of times,i have only replayed Ragnarok twice as it makes me feel exhausted.
