Kratos shares about his life in Sparta, about his wife and daughter and how he defeated sisters of fate and overcame death to defeat Zeus.
Taking place three years following the events of the previous game, Fimbulwinter, a great winter that spans three summers, is drawing to a close which will begin the prophesied Ragnarök. Kratos and his teenage son Atreus begin to traverse the nine realms to seek out a means to prevent Ragnarök while attempting to uncover answers behind Atreus' identity as Loki. Their journey will lead them to Týr, the Norse God of War who was previously believed to be dead. Their conflict will lie with Thor, the Norse God of Thunder who seeks revenge following the deaths of his half-brother Baldur and two sons Modi and Magni; Odin, Thor's father and King of the Norse Gods; and ally-turned-enemy Freya, who seeks revenge following the death of her son Baldur.

I think it is more a case of exclusive control with the Greek Gods, who imprisoned the Titans and ruled uncontested in a single Realm, shaping and controlling it much more than the Norse Pantheon. We saw what happened when Poseidon, Hades, Hera and other gods died, that the area they controlled ran amok, changing rapidly, which is also why Kratos took over for Ares, someone had to be the God of War.

Olympian gods is a power house, they take and control of everything. Underworld, Sea and Mortal even Sister of Fate. Their weaponary was so powerful and Their magic more into destructive concept. Their Civilization was too advance. Their army trained grimly. It show how crazy Zeus over a Power Meanwhile Odin try to take control over the 9 realm by trickery and genocide. Sadly for Asgardian they have rivalry. The Giant and Vanaheim can rivalry them. They have control over mortal but not a full control over them. Like a Dwarv that still can show resistance to them. Elf with their never ending racist war. Human that worship vanier god sadly they dead over Thor fighting a Giant. The Human were left too barbaric and seem cant build their own civilization. Spartans were very into eugenics.). On the bright side, upon becoming adults, spartan women had most of the same rights as the men, including voting and choosing their spouses, the only exception being joining the army. 1:22 love how Verdandi calling Kratos with his titles gave a nod to the real Norse mythology, as in the myth, Loki's father and Laufey's husband was called Farbauti, which directly translates to "Cruel Striker".

I like this, not only because I really like Freya *finally* starting to understand that Kratos really does know and has experienced what she's going through, and possibly even worse, but also because it's nice to see that while going to the Norse realms was a soft reboot, they still want to make sure everything Kratos went through before remains canon and relevant to who he is, even now.

Hearing him say his daughter’s name made me smile and sad at once since even if it has been too long, he still remembers her. Some folks tend to forget the names and faces if it’s long or something in the mind preventing to remember, but Kratos still recalls well. That and the fact that the last time he had seen her physically was back at the Elysium but he has to leave to save the realm from Persephone, though at the cost of separating and leaving her behind. While he is tough on Loki, and compared to what he had endured as a child, he was pretty soft on the lad especially as being a former Spartan.

I like how calm he is when he is telling his story to mimir. He is not like "No ! I wont talk about it. Old Kratos is gone. I am a terrible man. I regret everything." like a teenager but instead he is like "Yeah I did it. Do I regret ? Just for the innocent souls' blood I spilled but it was a war and war always left casualties." like a true soldier. Because whats done is done and he cant undo it. Moreover his actions were necesseriy to protect his homeland no matter what damage he brought upon. It is better to perish the corrupted gods rather than left them alive so they keep ruling and harming mortals for their own desire.

I’m glad Freya at least knows some of Krato’s tragedies in his life. That way she knows he does understand her pain. Freya may of not killed her son like Kratos kills his daughter but she did made his life a living hell for not feeling anything, all out of fear of losing him. What she did was wrong but she just wanted to make sure he stayed alive. Kratos slaughtered the Gods of Greece out of revenge for using him his whole life. What he did was wrong but wanted to make them pay for everything.

Freya.....let's step back and think. The man in front of you that after being abused, killed, and taken advantage of by God's he considered family *him being a son of Zeus helped in the power department* on top of that, fought a primordial titan or 2, who are arguably more powerful than the gods.....KILLED them. You're lucky he even let you put a blade to his neck when not looking. As much as I love the story and progression, JFC they keep forgetting how dangerous he TRULY is 😂😤

These are the small things that I love about this game. Especially, if you played all the GoW games, you can feel nostalgic about it when Kratos tells his story to the inhabitants of Midgard. EDIT: I'm surprised he didn't mention that his ashen-white skin is due to the fact that the gods bound her dead wife and daughter's ashes to his skin, to remind him of that day for as long as he lives. But that would probably shatter poor Freya's heart. LOL

Honestly I'm glad that they continue to talk about the past games in this one. How Freya hit that nerve about Calliope without knowing, and his wife Lysandra, and his brother Deimos. Honestly I feel like Kratos and Freya would do great as a team in future games. I know they didn't incorporate her because they just didn't think about it, but I'd love to see Circe make an appearance possibly in Egypt and have her be like an advisor to the pharaoh who battles Kratos because of the death of Helios. A nice throwback in the new game while he's also facing off against the Egyptian Gods. Or do a battle of the Sorceresses Freya vs Circe would be AMAZING especially if it ended with Freya reasoning Circe out of her rage *spoiler ahead* like Kratos did Thor before Odin offed him
