Nope wasn’t in the base game, same with GOW2018 they only added it in new game plus. And even still after the update. You can not do it during a fresh save, only during a NG+ save

I started New Game+ and used the same build I beat my last game with and it’s very challenging the second time around (also I had increased the difficulty to “Show Me No Mercy”). It feels like Fimbulwinter had weakened my old equipment and I have to boost it more. Plus whipping the Blades out after Thor says “I was hoping to see your blades. Suppose they don’t come when you call them” is just the funniest thing to me 😂

There's a possibility there might be an audio fx difference by the time you fully upgrade the weapons (there are about 5 new levels per weapon now), but I highly doubt it. i think it would be cool if whenever you reach the max level in NG+ for weapons, yo have a GoW2018 Axe and Blades transmog since they're doing a lot with that anyways. Btw, weapons get more flashy with every upgrade in NG+.

Yeah, so it’s pretty similar to Zeus armor in 2018 as well, we’re you had to beat beat all the Valkyries and Sigrun to get full set.

Update is good but I am a bit disappointed that they didn’t bring back the old skill tree of hand to hand combat, I feel like kratos in the previous game was much more fluid and had more attacks with hand to hand but now u r stuck with the same combo over and over again.

I'm not far into it, but so far I'm enjoying myself. The quality of life improvements are nice, it was fun to use the Blades and Spear against Thor, and most important WE HAVE THE CLOAK FINALLY lmao. I'm a little annoyed it took them this long to add it, but I'm happy none the less.

Its great i junped roght on my ps to atart ng+ but i noticed they didnt change anything in the gameplay. In ng+ you have the draupnir spear, but you cant use him in the open world as to throw him onto those things where ypu can jump from it or throw ot to destroy the stone/ice whatever. I guess that will be only available after „unlocking“ it again. Also you get the upgrade material for the weapons even if you cant use them since the weapons are on max level…

The burdens are actually handicaps and not buffs. They essentially reduce the effectiveness of the element/aspect which they are bought for. So for example burden of runic would reduce the amount of damage the runic attacks cause. This was mentioned in the PlayStation blog. Just thought everyone should know. Great video overall

I started the ng+ yesterday so I thought it'd be worth just coming here and saying, but I got a primal flame from the golden chest you unlock while you're freeing the lybrak or whatever its called, the bug whale in svatelfiem Also, you get all of the new materials you need to go from lvl 9*** to lvl 10 from doing side quest stuff, I don't remember what material I got, but I got one of them from a draugr hole in svartelfeim You also still get like chaos flames and gale flames even if they're already lvl 9, and I'm yet to find a use for them since I can't upgrade my weapons with them anymore

About damn time they released the Cloak as an armor piece and its benefits arent bad neither to be honest. Also I do like the armor sets and cosmetics as it makes me feel like Kratos is alot more customizable now. I wonder if they will do a shaved beard option in the future. Then again it does make him look much older.

I'll have to see if they added anything to make punching better. I only punched the whole game other than to use the special abilities on each weapon on cooldown. The Dwarf armor stuff that makes you poison on unarmed attacks was hilarious.
