Patch 2 was released yesterday addressing the DLSS frame generation issue, I did some testing and I can confirm that it now works as intended. Additionally, the patch note indicates that the game should now launch on 4GB GPUs.

The section on tessellation is key to understanding why performance variations occur in the Realm Between. I've read a lot of frustration surrounding those drops and so few have successfully identified the cause. Tessellation seems to be a major problem in certain areas at the moment.

It is the problem. The funny thing is that amd gpus don’t have this issue. And outside of the realm between realms, tessellation setting from Medium to Ultra is a 3 fps diff. So clearly something is bugged in the realm on nvidia gpus

And also tessellation is not known to be heavy on GPU resources just like anisotropic filtering. I cant remember a game performance that get tank because of tessellation.

AMD FSR and Frame gen has improved so much. Back in TLOU the game was playable but there were distracting visual glitches when frame gen was enabled. GoWR on the other hand been playing for a couple of hours and no distracting visual glitch yet.

After playing stuff on RPCS3 I’m genuinely so glad we’re at a point in gaming where you can go to lower settings and the game is super playable. Getting 20fps in resistance 2 firefights with a 11th gen i7/3060ti hurts my soul 😭

Made with NTLite professional, winaero, Chris Titus utility, glary utilities, revo uninstaller and around 140 custom registry tweaks. Benchmarks compared to 45 games about 14-16% better than Hardware unboxed.

The reason I asked this question is that after watching some Digital Foundry videos for the PS5 version, I noticed that the Ray Traced Cube Maps were present in that version but missing in the PC port. Then, I came across an article from pcgameshardware.de where they somehow seemed to have those Cube maps enabled, which made me think that something might be wrong with my driver or system, and that might be the reason why SSR looks so noisy. But after reading the article from Digital Foundry, it turns out that they're planning to add those Ray Traced Cube Maps post-launch when they fix the DXR implementation.

Thanks for that guide! I've use all on Ultra on 1440p, 4070 Ti and 5800X3D with DLAA and NV FG is quite good but... I'll check differences between FSR FG and DLSS FG on DLAA :) I tested and FSR FG is better for me for around 10 FPS, but what is important (!!) you must restart game after change for shaders bufforing (around 12%).
