A quick heads up. There's an issue with the game in the second world (land of the dwarfs). The performance tanks and the game hit a roof of 20 FPS. Here's how to fix it: SteamOS FPS to 30 Set GPU manual frequencies to 1600Mhz (Optional): powertool set to performance Whenever you sleep and resume, the bug will be back. Simply switch Manual GPU frequency OFF and ON again to 1600Mhz to solve it. Another one for the OLED: you need to turn on HDR settings after every restart of the game. The setting doesn't stick unfortunately.

I tried all of this and it helped but still had black screen i went to gaming mode , click steam settings , native resolution , then listen for the screen reader to ask to press square Use this to set the brightness etc as it will read out the settings for you as its black , once past that the screen will work and show "show data usage" - click limited , and boom games working , good luck everyone!

For those who even after doing this tutorial do not start the game I have some things that I did and it worked. First update the discover packages and restart. Then change the resolution of the base file of the game setting.ini and leave it the same in desktop mode and also in game mode! And finally copy the file from the D3DK folder and paste it into the root folder of the same game this worked for me and runs without problems!

@@redditrabbit6559 so I fixed it. I had to download and updated crack file because this video was for an older patch of the game from CS.rin and went to page 5 for a crack only file by Voices. Downloaded that. Did every step in the video BUT I copied the steam_settings folder to the game folder for GOW Ragnarok. Don't copy the exe file because it will not work. You'll just keep getting the SDK error message. Then boom. I no longer get the error. I'm currently compiling shaders

Ok, after a lot of black screens and having to delete and install the game several times, I think I finally found what the issue is. If you acquired the game on fg, you need to install the patches right after unpacking the game. As soon as I finished adding the patches, in order by the way, I added the game on steam, checked the forced compatibility with proton experimental, and it worked without having to do any other fixes or tweaks. I had to do several logins just to be sure it wasn't a one time thing and sure enough, I had no more issues with black screens or errors.

Try restarting the steam deck, it should be there if you're using the correct file. Make sure you are looking in the right prefix folder too

It successfully launched once in desktops mode but then I went to gaming mode and now it refuses to launch both in desktop and gaming mode 🥲

Black screen? A viewer said create a folder called steam_settings inside the game folder and extract the ini in there.

dod* recommend downloading the rune crack. It's on the download page. Did you try it ? And the steam_deck=1 can be specified in proton launch option like so: SteamDeck=1 %command%

If you're using windows it should just work. I got it on legion go and it just works.

I think the game won't run well when installed on sd card unlike any other games. Cuz mine was installed on sd card and im having so many issue like black screen and sudden stop so i tried to transfer it on ssd and it works fine without any launch options.

I downloaded the game from the Steam website, my friend, but I did everything right when I got to step 7, inside the compactdata folder, there is no folder with the ending 240

If you have the steam version, the prefix folder should be the steamid number.

after trying everything I found on the internet (GSE folder never showed up and yes I used the correct steam.api file) .. I ended up with black screen and fans going full speed. I think I resign now :D
