Nice to see the second woman that Kratos ever truly fell in love with. They had moments together of them being sweet. Laufey the just even had moments of dominance with Kratos when they talked. A bit of flirtatious teasing, but still words of love and wisdom. She was even shown to be an equal to Kratos in battle. Not only did Laufey fight well against Kratos when they first met, but even before that, Laufey was able to go toe-to-toe with Thor and survived, even if Thor was drunk and not at his best. Laufey even had a temper that rivaled the rage of Kratos, as shown with her previous encounter with Thor. She had more in common with Kratos than he ever realized until she was gone, which may have been what drew them to each other. It was nice to know that Faye didn't want Kratos and Atreus to know their fate so that they could choose their own path, so that they could choose to be better.

I WISH we had seen some of the first woman too. His first wife was never truly shown on flashbacks, and the only game that sorta did it (assencion), kinda made an ilusion and it's just her wanting to fuck with him. Faye's comment about how they can't be defined by their pasts hits harder when you uncover the devastation wreaked by her fight with Thor in Vanaheim. Once upon a time she was walking the same path as Kratos used to, furious with the gods and desperate for revenge, but after the collateral damage wreaked upon the crater, the punishments the Dwarves suffered for the failed rebellion, she realized that rage won her nothing. Likely that's when she changed her modus operandi to Laufey the Just, working to thwart the Aesir through the methods Mimir described, freeing their prisoners and feeding the starving rather than straight conflict. Funny to think Thor was angry that he never got to fight Laufey the Just, never catching on that he already had. In a way, he was doubly disappointed, denied a rematch against the stranger in Vanaheim and a match against the pesky Giant interfering with Aesir schemes.
@ythandlename2 жыл бұрын
I don't think Faye would've won and that could be the main reason why she stopped fighting Thor and the Aesirs. The truth was that Thor was heavily drunk and Faye had every reason to kill him but didn't and left a village in destruction. This could mean she couldn't kill Thor when he was vulnerable as a drunk and after collaterally killing innocents and being ashamed that she fought Thor in vain, must've damaged her pride and rethink her methods. Helping people went from a habit to a regular job for her which you can see she instilled that benevolence to Kratos and Atreus.

I like Faye. I think she is an incredible woman and she taught her son well. The bonds of love between her and Atreus know no bounds. That's why Atreus loves his mother so much because he spent more time with her than he did with Kratos in the first game. When Atreus and Kratos went on their journey to spread Faye's ashes in Jotunheim that gave Kratos and Atreus an opportunity to get close with each other and strengthen their bond.

Kratos is a huge man, and to see Faye to be as tall as Kratos, she's defintely a tall woman. Imagine if she and Freya stood side-by-side, she'll definitely towers over most characters (except Tyr and Thor) I can only imagine that Atreus would be as tall as her when he reaches maturity.

"The culmination of love is grief," and I don't think words have ever hurt so much in how true they are. Not one single relationship that you enter into is done with the promise that it will last forever. A pet, a loved one, even an inanimate object All will wither and depart, leaving you broken for the memory of what you once had. Nothing promised you it will last forever, and even you can't promise that either. The trick is not to deprive yourself all of the wonderful memories because of that one lingering moment of sadness.
