This rule also applies to science. “But we have evidence for science.” We have evidence for God too. Point and case it’s not BECAUSE a book says something that makes it true. The book says so BECAUSE it is true and we can prove that with evidence. You may disagree with the evidence, but that’s more of a bias/heart issue than it is a lack of evidence or saying, “it’s true because the Bible is true.” It’s a difference between evidence vs persuasion. @@quacks2much No worries. Questions are good. The whole answer would take too long for KZbin comments, though. (On that note, I'm tempted to call into this show.) In short, I'm somewhat on the fence currently. I'm 29 currently. I was raised as a fundamentalist Christian, and most of my life decisions, moral fiber, and personality are based around a fundamental belief that God is who He says He is (Biblically). I was even into apologetics for quite some time. My whole "existential crisis," if you will, started when I looked into the laughable Flat Earth theory and its proponents. The fervor with which someone could believe something so verifiably false got me to question what I believed, as well. That combined with some personal experience led me to where I am now: I want to believe, but the lack of even anecdotal evidence makes that quite difficult. So for now, I enjoy listening to both sides. :)

I saw an extended tumblr conversation regarding this very concept and turned out to be hilarious. The gay men island would just trade with the lesbian women island, do the deed, and trade children so that both 'societies' could continue to grow. Then, as the bisexuals came in, they'd just transfer between the two islands as they pleased, all the while both islands would still be getting exiles from the Heterosexual mainland... LOL. XD

@@dieseljester3466 "Homosexual" is used to refer to males in the context of the bible. Some Bible-believers are actually in doubt as to whether lesbianism is even mentioned in the bible, and many that think it is cannot agree on what it actually says. Also, no one mentioned the fact that if ALL the homosexuals were placed on an island, there would be considerable brain/muscle power in the group to devise an exit strategy.

@Ronove the only reason i don't like this statement is because a christian who actually reconciles scienctific discovery with a god, is genuinely ignoring personal thoughts in favour of actual proof when it's needed. the supernatural claim of their mind which concludes a god, is entirely seperate and therefore being christian in any capacity doesn't hold them back from that "proof" statement. i think maybe if you remove "christian" and replace it with the word "radical" then that statement hold true without resorting to the same nonsense you're trying to expose. fairy tales are told to christains, christians believe in fairy tales, therefore christians only believe fairy tales is not a good syllogism. radicals believe fairy tales, and fairy tales are told to everybody, therefore, radicals believe those fairy tales. it's more narrow and still a little short sighted but more on the nose and close to the point than "christian". i'm just trying to help you from alienating the wrong people. christians were the ones to persecute science and simultaneously bring it to the forefront in modern times, so without them, the world may look differently. both good and bad. but thisis what we have and christians, even radicals in their own times would favour science over religion and still hold their belief in a seperate box to the one labelled "reality".

@@SpongeBobImagination first of all you condescending misleading prick, an atheist is a title, a description given to a person who answers the question "do you believe there is a god?" with a "no" or "i don't know.". obviously the simplest of things confuse simple people. second. a skeptic asks believers for proof. your clear lack of wisdom, knowledge, self scrutiny and the english language means you are not saying what you're thinking because a prick like you will never be specifc and will never answer the questions presented to you because they always, without fail cause a short circuit in your mind forcing a defense mechanism which makes you say dumb fucking shit. an atheist doesn't subscribe to the name, it's involuntary. just like having a dick or a pussy makes you a man or a woman. you do not get to choose it, you are designated a descriptor so we all know where we stand. one of the descriptions prescribed is the label "atheist" for anybody who doesn't say "yes" to the god question. that's it. end of story. fools like you who pretend to know shit nobody knows at all, are the reasons we have retards who think the earth is fucking flat. the same reason people kill themselves because they believe wholly that we are living in a computer simulation and think it's like a fucking movie and they will wake up in a fucking pod. the correct questions to ask about anything is "can you prove it?" and "why do you believe it?" these two questions cause cunts like you to be so defensive, you grab your comfort teddy, hug it and hope the questions just go away. fuck that, i'm alive, i'm living in the same world as you and i don't see any reason to believe in a god, much less respect any notions of one. prove there is a god, and i will no longer be an atheist. you are atheist when concerning Zeus. Odin, Triton, Osiris and every other god that died simply because we found the gap they were filling in for our ignorance. not knowing is the entire point behind science, it's there to show us that the shadows aren't scary and they're just a lack of perceptible space. all the thousands upon thousands of gods we have had in human history have all vanished into obscurity because we know there isn't a god of the wind, a god of love, a god of war, a god of death, a god of peace, a god of night pulling a blanket over the sky. all of these gods have vanished and became Myths. they're myths because we respect the fact that not knowing and not being able to communicate worldwide and effectively, caused these superstitions. that excuse is no longer reasonable. witches are no longer reasonable. magic isn't reasonable. we create universes full of gods and magic, we don't live in one of them. we mock magical superstition. we jest when it comes to levitation, flight, invisibility, invulnerability and all these other supernatural creations we once thought to be real. today, with everything we have done, everything we know and everything we can expect to know, it makes no sense to conclude without any evidence what-so-ever, that a god exists in any capacity. being convinced there is a god is far worse than not being convinced. i don't see murderers "saving" children by drowning them because a voice didn't tell them to. gods are no longer rational. atheists, as a group realise this flaw in the human mind and we ask simple questions instead of pretending you're right and then discussing the possible qualities of a god nobody has seen ever in the history of everything. it's arrogant to think you know. it's selfish to think you're right. it's absurd to expect other people to follow your word and your word only. so when a sceptical person asks you for proof, i suggest you stop suck that non existent dick and tell the fucking truth. (notice i didn't have to lump "believers" into a single entity to make my point. that's because you're a cunt and i'm just honest and correct.) also. "believer" says absolutely nothing. i believe i am typing right now. if someone asks me for proof, i can give them mountains of proof. i can record it through my phone, giving audio and visual perception. i can show the resulting response you're reading now, i can ask youtube to show record of the message being sent. i can dig deep into my computer and show the processing that takes place to show a corrosponding signal with each key pressed. i'm a believer in that sense. maybe you should learn to write shit down first, refine it, the rewrite it and then compose it on youtube because it's obvious to me your stream of consciousness isn't a stream, more of a dribble and the rest of us have to pretend to respect you for being a condescending fuck. you're the same arsehole who says "blacks" when you're referring to one individual and expect that to apply to every person who fits that description. and that makes you a cunt. most religious believers are amazing people, you on the other hand, are a fucking bastard and i can bet whoever you associate with wouldn't like you to represent them with such ignorance. go fuck yourself and please, don't bother responding, unless you have the time to delete your responses after we've done this a few hundred times.

Personally, I refuse to allow the bible to be used as proof of anything in a debate. Or any other religious text for that matter. In fact, I consider it the worst evidence you could possibly present and you've already lost the debate. Also, it lends instantly to the degree of your intelligence. A debate is impossible with these people. They believe because they want to. They dont care if it's TRUE or not. They just like the idea which makes them feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's the equivalent of debating with a drunk when scripture is used. Its 2019. We know its BS. All of it. The whole book. Even if you dont believe all of it, you also cant win a debate using the 10 commandments or anything else in the bible as a good moral guide. Its laughable to even suggest that's where human morality comes from. Side note: the impossible is therefore extended when I hear African Americans bowing down to the God of Abraham. But, homosexual, bisexual, and even polyamorous persons are no more likely to contract or spread STIs than their strictly heterosexual counterparts. Proper testing, medications, and the use of condoms could easily reduce the number of infections if everyone employed them. The idea that gay and bisexual people have riskier sex or more partners than heterosexuals is a feigned morality trope paraded by the religious who also claim HIV is a curse from God, created to punish sexual sin.
