+Atheist Madness Nop, that is what theist do (the comentary in question is in Athanasia P where you made mental gymnastics in order to avoid the answer and assert BS). You never answer questions. You just have proven ERL's point, "religious charlatans can never just answer a question".
@Julian01016 жыл бұрын
It seems i didn't explain myself well, when i said Athanasia P, i meant all the post users whom asked you questions, not just her claims (which you didnt answer). Everytime someone pointed out your circular argument you just claimed the same thing again and again. You avoided the slavery issue with your god. You did not presented evidence for god's existence and for objetive morality. You just kept claiming and claiming but never backed up your statement. I reject your premise "Objective moral values and duties do not exist unless God exists", you have to prove god exist, and that is somehow connected to moral values. Until then this premise is just false. You not only lie about god but lie about lying. I have proven my claims, prove yours. Or keep dodging the questions i dont care either way. Goodbye Liar Madness
@Julian01016 жыл бұрын
My "goal-post" was to prove you avoid questions and lie. Your circular argument of "Objective moral values and duties do not exist unless God exists" is still circular unless you answer my points (evidence for god's existence and evidence for objective moral values) I accept that the point about slavery being irrelevant only if you are not talking about the christian god (the only i know, for now, that endorses such action), otherwise is pretty relevant. You changed terms when questioned about objective morality to moral ontology (talking about shift the goal-posts) if there is any diference please describe it. Your premise 1 is still rejected, you are the one claiming it true, then prove it true, until then is a lie. (dont try to shift the burden of proof) Im dead right with my claim about god's existence, you cannot explain a mistery with a higher mystery, that is just dishonest. We explain the unexplained in terms that we understand. You are still a liar and dishonest. Goodbye Liar Madness

@Nicolas Broszky, I am an Atheist, but I have a couple of problems with your post. You say that "...atheists who care whether scripture is true, will study it critically, while theists will just go whatever the fuck the pastor preaches...". You are making a statement about atheists and theists, as if YOU were god All mighty. Not ALL Atheists study 'scripture', and not ALL theists will go with whatever the 'pastor' is preaching. And how can you talk about what a pastor is preaching, when there are hundred and thousands of pastor preaching, and millions of sermons conducted. You then make a prediction about 8 cases out of 10, contradicting the Biblical story --- and all of a sudden YOUR prediction, is unlike the predictions made by theists? No your right, your predictions are even LESS likely. And Jesus wasn't a good guy? He was a horrible person if you read the Bible? What the f....are you talking about? Whether Jesus Christ existed or not, is irrelevant because he is symbolising compassionate love, and peace, and that is a quality of being, worthy to aspire towards.

So please refrain from TELLING me, what I SHOULD have understood - that is just rude. Furthermore, I really couldn't care less if he was right about Jesus, or not, and I also don't give a fig about whatever is written in the bible. You should learn to pay attention to what is being said, before you blow yourself up, and enter into a self-righteous rave about nothing. To me, it only matters what Jesus Christ is SYMBOLISING, and that is in essence compassionate love, and that is a QUALITY worthy to emulate. Even after I explained the symbolism of the cards, the psychology behind it, and how they were practically handing information to me on a golden platter, it didn’t matter. They just switched tactics and offered me money to do them. That’s when I had to put them away and I could no longer use them in the playful manner I had enjoyed doing. People want SO MUCH to believe in the mystical that they will convince themselves of just about anything. My favorite part was the part where Jason absolutely refused to honestly answer simple questions over, and over, and over again, trying to worm his way out of an honest conversation by answering questions that weren't being asked. Such a _nice_ fellow really, though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, thinks he has a deity as his hit-man. Seems to have a bit of a complex, that one.

“I define morality as that which is preferable to one person and not preferable to another.” Wow. Aside from that self-serving notion being entirely inconsistent with what Christianity propounds in this regard, it’s a simply terrible means of determining what should be considered moral in a civil society. Jason is yet another theist who’s deeply confused about almost everything but nonetheless still believes with absolute certainty that he’s got all the answers.

@broddr6 жыл бұрын
Atheist Madness, and yet the biblical god's 'moral' nature condones slavery throughout the Old and New Testaments. Including condoning slavery twice in the Ten Commandments that bible thumpers are constantly holding up as a source of absolute morality. Do you condone slavery? If not, how do you justify that moral position without grounding from an absolute from your god to back it up?
@Nancy200126 жыл бұрын
Atheist Madness Me I would agree with you. If you don’t have a set system of moral values you can’t talk about objective morality. One such system is Christianity. Another system could be a political regime . Totalitarian regimes of the past (and the present) have set such models of what is moral and right for the people. For example the communist regime of the USSR of the 80’s had set the standards of how a model citizen and person should be. Other than that the rest is just you following what is set in your system, believing that your system is the true and correct one etc. There are many positions and standards set in the Christian dogma that many people oppose to and don’t accept them as what they would consider as moral or right. But then again as I said outside the system that sets absolute moral values, it’s anybody’s opinion like you said.
