"Swim" and meditate in and on the word daily...Shilah, God will meet u in it.Faith comes by hearing, he will reward you with the gift of more faith for sure. Doubts can come but you can overcome by the power of his word..i.e the sword of the spirit as stated in Ephesians 6.Will be praying for you.Blessings

Our walk with God is not a bed of roses. It is full of struggles and sacrifices. Draw close to God by reading the Bible daily, praying regularly, hanging out with fellow believers, meditating on His goodness and words daily etc. I shall pray for you.

John Piper is absolutely right that just because a word doesn't appear in the Bible, that doesn't necessarily mean that the concept that word refers to doesn't appear. And the same is true of individual books of the Bible. For example, in the Gospels Jesus never uses the word 'grace', but the concept of grace runs throughout his teaching.

Of course it makes sense for John Piper to want to have his book translated into other languages. Any Christian teacher should want to have as much impact as possible, and, for a prominent teacher, that will mean translation into other languages.

It is very refreshing to hear a prominent Christian leader speaking against ethnocentrism and nationalism. On earth there are 2 fundamental groups of people: those who have been born again and in a sense created again (2 Cor 5:17), and those who haven't been born again and created again. Ethnicity and nationality are relatively very unimportant in God's grand scheme of things. Those Christians who think that God is especially on the side of Western countries or a particular Western country have been deceived.

I feel the same way. I am from Singapore living in USA. I cannot truly be committed to following someone who doesn't practise what he preaches. I would rather have a pastor who keeps silent on the character of the political candidates and let the voters decide for themselves. Of course the best is to have someone who will caution the voters straight up about the platform(s) they should not vote for, eg. John Macarthur and Hamrick. This will be one of the last times I will listen to Piper, knowing that he did not remove the log in his eyes before criticising Trump's failings, but did not see 'if he has eyes, let him see' Trump's numerous deeds to foster a revival of some due respect for God and Bible. He did not comment on the numerous sins of the Dem candidate and members! In this dark age of fake news and school propaganda, many are lost and appreciate some light and guidance which Macarthur courageously provides!
