haha you SAID that! So very true. I agree with every word. An angel..phenomonal. If someone just heard this track you'd belive she's an old school Laurel Canyon, hippy cult devotee but she's not at all. This track seems to be her answer to the complex problems she raises in most her other tracks. Her ideal and the Adam Curtis vid accoompaniment brings another level of oddness to it all. Lynchian you could say. I's follow her if she started a cult 😆

I got to meet Natalie after her Portland show in 2019 and did a terrible job of expressing how profoundly affected I have been by her music, probably because of the fact that I was still in tears. She was graceful, kind, and poised - a true vision and talent who is absolutely deserving of this latest momentum. I've listened to her since 2016 - through so much, her art has been my conduit for pain and grief, hope and healing. Natalie, you are a true angel on this earth!!

Natalie Mering has been killing it since 2019. The ways I describe Weyes Blood to people: She's folk, country, and dark pop. But not Lana Del Rey dark pop. More like a less optimistic Kate Bush. She sounds retro. Comparisons to Karen Carpenter are common. But she also sounds like the future. Imagine Carole King songs, but with a looming sense of imminent doom. Can be relationship doom. Can be climate catastrophe doom. She's a massive Enya fan and defender. Enya is her musical mom.
