This is what I need to hear again and again (because I'm often forgetful). And that is God cherishes the little things that we do for each other (especially when it's done with an act of love). What seems little to us is monumental with God.

I love the image that the discomfort Is the hook. That little thing that catches someone. I used to long to speak up like your friend but was so conflict-averse that I stayed silent on my faith and then was ashamed. It felt like Peter denying that he knew Jesus. And so I started really praying to the Holy Spirit to embolden me. One day I realized that I was suddenly able to speak about my faith with much greater ease. I don't push if someone wants to swim away (keeping up your analogy) but I no longer feel embarrassed or fearful of confrontation when speaking about my faith in front of people. It's funny how few get actively hostile (there are a few work colleagues who simply, by the fact of my Catholicism, avoid me and that that's ok; I keep loving and praying for them) but many are at least minimally interested and so many who say "I used to be Catholic" or "I was raised Catholic but I'm not Catholic" and it becomes a point of connection. Pray to the Holy Spirit to embolden you, if you want to speak up but are fearful.

Please pray for the Holy souls in Purgatory🕯🪦🥀
@Jezu-ufam-tobie-amen5 ай бұрын
Saint Gertrude : Eternal Father, I offer You the most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen. It is recounted that Jesus showed her a vast number of souls entering heaven from purgatory as a result of her faithful and frequent recitation of this prayer.
@phoenixaz84314 ай бұрын
@@Jezu-ufam-tobie-amen I don't get praying for the souls of Purgatory unless it's someone you knew. The only people who need prayers are the people currently living. God lets in relatively few people in his Kingdom, which means many/most people end up destroyed both body and soul by God in eternal hell. Why pray for the souls of those who are eternally secure, who can no longer lose their salvation when you know hundreds of millions/billions *alive* may lose their eternal salvation?
@Jezu-ufam-tobie-amen4 ай бұрын
@@phoenixaz8431 I do understand your priority ! Conversion of souls is essential and urgent, but when you come to know how much these souls in Purgatory suffer, it's an act of kindness and charity you do, when praying for them. Besides, if their prayers can't do anything for them, they can do a lot for us, including helping us convert others through prayers, actions... etc. But then, yes, praying for souls on Earth is very important, especially for those who are dying or living in great sin... Have a blessed Sunday and beautiful mass !
@NaturaBreeze4 ай бұрын
@@phoenixaz8431 Because once they enter heaven they pray for you, and all of us! Their prayers are powerful....imagine being let into heaven because somebody down here prayed for you? You'd pray for them with such fervour, we can't imagine! That's why we pray for them🙂

Gabriel Castillo always says, "A grace remembered is a grace renewed." Knowing him, it's probably a quote from a saint. :) He's a Catholic lay evangelist, **HIGHLY** recommended & inspiring, especially for his videos on the full daily Rosary and mental prayer! These are game-changers. His channel is GabiAfterHours. May God bless and guide you and your loved ones.

I know that feeling of hesitation when someone asks me what I did during vacation. I've noticed that a lot of people are both surprised and curious that someone would spend time off on a Catholic retreat versus going to the beach, etc. People seen genuinely fascinated by it. Definitely a chance to go fishing!

It's like the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, where you give yourself to God, which everything you have, wether spiritual or temporal goods, so that He can take care of it whilst you take care of His own desire: the eternal joy of souls. I discovered it at Paray-le-Monial, in France, a wonderful place where Jesus appeared showing his Open Heart.

I will be praying for you! I have a 22 year old daughter and I know those challenges and fears are real. Go gently. You don't need to do it 'all at once'. Just the honest kind of response Father talked about. "What are your plans this weekend?" "well, Mass on Sunday of course, and then I am going to ...." No more than that to begin. It's much harder on young people today because the reality is, it's a culture more hostile to the values of our faith.. Evangelization requires the boldness given by the Holy Spirit. Pray for an outpouring of His gifts. God bless.

What about unknown people, like in a bus, at the beach, in the street…. How can we hook them ? I often feel like talking to someone, but I don’t know how to start. Would you have something to tell us about that ? And I have precise questions : Do we need to be 2 necessarily ? Do we have to be blessed by a priest before necessarily ? There’s a couple in my diocese who evangelize every Saturday morning. They first attend mass, then have a little time of adoration, then they are blessed by the priest and they go and talk to the people who pass by during one and half hour. Then they pray for the people they met, every day until the next Saturday. What about being spontaneous sometimes ? Thanks for your answers 🙏
