Im from Michigan where Bob and his family live. A friend of mine said she saw him at the park with his wife and kids and he was just like one of us..no stardom..no ego..he chatted with her for quite awhile about ordinary every day things...a down to earth nice family man with a great great voice! Did I say how great he is?? You betcha..no bs here! On an off the wall story..about Kid Rock...he too is a down to earth guy with a great voice...kid rock! I live in a small resort town on the east side of Michigan..we had just moved up here to raise our kids. My neighbors girl was down at our beach as a huge yaught went stolling along lake huron to the docks..her grandmother took her photo and then I noticed a big huge black van like celebrities use just down our road wondering hmmmm who could that be?? The next day, we find out that it was kid rock just comin to chill with his friends over a bonfire and I missed it! There were photos taken of him with normal folks like us all over the place..and someone asked him..why here? And he said..why not here..I can come hang out with all you wonderful people who treat me like one of their own. Its home. Then my nephew and his friends went to his concert in detroit. My nephew was looking for his girl and bumped into kid rock accidently out back..they smoked a doobie, talked about life and he said it was quite bizarre..no stardom in his veins, just a regular dude like you and me! Thats something he will never forget! And in case you are wondering did he find his girl? Yep and they have been married for years! And she and their friends got to sit and chat with kid too!

Ive met Mr. Seger. He would not remember. He was polite, soft spoken, and generous. He kept up with his people, knew where they were, and what they wanted. Have a memory, of him sitting at my bar. I was a bartender in a huge club. I always volunteered for concert nights. Super long shifts. You have to be there for the roadies, and stay till the end. The club was closed. The roadies had done the job, and packed him up and loaded the busses. The kids wanted to ride the mechanical bull. He was sweaty, and exhausted. The operator was gone home. I found a bar back that could run the damn thing. He sat at my bar, drinking ice water, and smiled, watching his people get thrown by the bull. He poured it out, and must have been worn to a frazzle, but he sat, for as long as we could stay, and let his people have a life. Then we were invited to the buses. By then, it was after 5 am. He hung out till the end,a total nice guy.

@@Robert-mq5jx I actually know Bob. Seger was born at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Charlotte and Stewart Seger. At age five, he moved with his family to Ann Arbor. He had an older brother, George. Seger's father, a medical technician for Ford Motor Company, played several instruments and Seger was exposed to music from an early age. Seger was also exposed to frequent arguments between his parents that disturbed the neighborhood at night. In 1956, when Seger was 10 years old, his father abandoned the family and moved to California. The remaining family soon lost their comfortable middle-class status and struggled financially. Seger attended Tappan Junior High School (now Tappan Middle School) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and graduated in 1963 from Ann Arbor High School, now known as Pioneer High School. He ran track and field in high school. Seger also went to Lincoln Park High School for a time. He was a good friend of Glenn Frey of the Eagles, who was from Royal Oak, MI.

Being surprised by a song is great! Going in and expecting one thing and hearing something else can be amazing. I mainly remember in the 70's when people were talking about Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. I'd never heard it at the time and when I started listening to it, at the very beginning, it was soft, slow, opera like and I thought, "This is going to be a nice slow relaxing song." Was _I_ in for a shock! Wow! And for me to remember distinctly the first time I heard that song says a lot for it. And of course, at the time, we never dreamed it would become a classic that is still being heard and loved today.

I can understand why someone would say that this isn't their groove, but I don't understand how anyone would dislike him!

A lot of the beauty in Bob Seger’s voice, for me, is his incredible restraint. And when he does take it up, there is that rawness you spoke of, but also a rare easiness. His ability to tell a story is amazing

Been watching now for a while..I just hit 60 yrs. old and have lived through all the music that you play. I really like how intuitive you are to the quality and ability of REAL musicians. You may not have a music degree, but you can FEEL the music the same way I do...when it touches your soul enough to bring back old memories and bring tears to your eyes, that's real music!

I saw Bob Seger at Madison Square Garden in NYC in the late 80’s. He brought me to tears when he sang my favorite song “Roll Me Away.” GREAT!!!

I love that song, too!! The line "Just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise" gets to me every time!!

Bob Seger is another of the greatest American Icons . You hit the nail on the head when you observed that not only is he a great singer , but a great songwriter, and storyteller. His music ranged from rock to soft rock, but each song pulled you into a world and story carefully crafted and told in music. If you want to hear some more iconic songs by him try "Old Time Rock and Roll" which was featured in one of Ton Cruise early films called " Ricky Business" . and try also the song " Rock and Roll Never Forgets" . If you want to hear something outside the box by another great storytelling songwriter , try the song " The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" by Canadian singer storyteller " Gordon Lightfoot" . It is a Ballad / dedicated as an Homage to the TRUE STORY of a ship sunk in a winter storm on Lake Superior in the US in 1975. Keep up the good work Kiddo . I love your enthusiasm and fact you really LOVE music . By The Way I am still waiting for you to post your own song featuring you on vocals .

Gordon Lightfoot donated 100% of the proceeds - not just the profits, ALL OF IT - to the families of the /Edmund Fitzgerald's/ crew. Every year, on the anniversary of its sinking, the Mariner's Church in Detroit rings its bell 29 times, once for each crewman. The year Lightfoot died, they rang the bell 30 times.

It baffles my mind that you are just now exposed to the greatest music of all time. I'm 62 and raised both my boys 42 and 36 on everything you are listening to. Now my grandchildren are exposed and love it!

It's a 🎷 sax😊. Bob Seger was one of the voices of the 70's, singer, song writer. I'm 67 and regret that I never got to see him live. Give a listen to more of his stuff if you liked this song. My first time discovering your YT channel.... I'll be tuning in again 💜

I got to see him twice and grabbed daffodils off his stage. I'm 67 in Dec and these memories and reactions from those so much younger than us are what makes me go on...

Molly Boy rocks. I had 3 boys, lost one and want Molly and Storm to come visit me in USA WA state. I can't cook bangers and mash but can cook some mean cod and chips with malt vinegar.

Seger was the perfect combination of an exceptional storytelling songwriter who had the voice and music to take those lyrics to the next level. Absolutely one of the best around. You won't go wrong listening to anything the fans are recommending to you. Remember that this masterpiece was a live performance!

The songs and stories of my youth…so many memories. Saw him live four times. He brings them back-I could tell you three personal stories that actually happened just listening to ‘turn the page’ when I was 15! Thank you Bob. Very proud of our Michigan boy. ♥️♥️

I'm a 75 year old ex-Detroiter who first heard Bob Seger live in 1966 when he played with his first band "Bob Seger and the Last Heard" at my high school's dance. I've been a huge fan ever since. My favorite live album is "Nine Tonight" recorded live with The Silver Bullet Band at Detroit's Cobo Arena in 1981. Listen to some of his up tempo stuff like "Betty Lou's getting out tonight" and "The Strut" as well as the "Night Moves". A true American classic rock and roll star.

Bob can do it all. Ballads, anthemic rockers, and has one of the all time best backing bands in Rock & Roll. Night Moves, Like A Rock, Roll Me Away, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man, Hollywood Nights, Beautiful Loser...Can't go wrong!
