My mom is a devotee of Kali and she told me that Kali is actually a loving goddess who protects us and liberates us. Almost every night (mostly on Diwali), at around 12 AM, my mom and (sometimes) I pray to Kali for protection from evil, egotistical demons. And the more you know her and the more allow yourself to get to know her, she will reveal herself as a benevolent goddess who is willing to empower you with feminine energy, creativity and fertility. Oh its great that you are indian I would like to ask you a question. Is Maa Bhairavi ( the 5th Mahavidya) the same as Kali? I was recently chanting her mantra but I heard that unless you come from a family like yours, where you learn how to properly make oferings to Kali and worship her in a proper way it's better to not do it. Somebody told me that the energy of Kali is so strong and powerfull and that you can't chant her mantras on your own because her energy may eat you up, and it has to be under a gurus guidance or as in your case as a family tradition ( kul devi is called right?) Anyway... any advice on that? I hear that we foreigners cant really worship her because it could be dangerous if its not done in a proper way.

During my meditation earlier I called upon the Goddesses, they had their hands on my womb, igniting me, then walked in this beautiful Indian woman with dark and curly hair, wearing a beautiful red robe, and she placed her hands on my womb. At that moment I felt as though I was on fire. My throat area (crazy you said that) felt as though it was vibrating and I actually stared coughing. I had never heard of this Goddess until my meditation (I had another experience the other night that led me to work with divine feminine energy, this the Goddess meditation tonight). Mad respect for Kali Ma Energy! I used to have a beautiful picture of her staying demons above my bed and dressed up like her for Halloween around that time. I was slaying my own ego at that time and was working lots as well as going to school full time, family deaths, life challenges and many people who were dishonest and men who wanted my sexual energy were things that I dealing with. I moved to a new city and had all my things in storage. A random person came up to me at a party and get rid of all your pictures of Kali you know longer need to invoke her. You have moved out of that now. Durga is a better energy for you. I had never met this lady nor did I have the pictures in my wall since I had not yet moved into a new home. I kid you not I had a calling to watch this video after my trip and during my trip my spirit guide came to me as Kali. She told me she was my mother and she told me I had to go through phases of clearing through the insecurities and fears that I locked in my ego before I could leave my trip state of mind. It was very hard and I had so many releases emotionally, admitting to myself all the things I've been too afraid to recognize. Im not even 2 min into this video and I'm very excited to learn!

@@Sara-qm8te kolkata . The now capital of west Bengal was actually earlier know as Kalikata which mean land of Kali. This place has some ancient Hindu temples.. Most worshipped places of MAA kaali.. Hence the energy is more in that land. In India.. We know our gods and goddesses hence we do not have misinformation. Only during the British rule, information was manipulated to make our practices seem evil. . And this has continued to be successful in the western world. But now, people are waking up to the truth. If you want to know more, i suggest watching or reading mythological Indian stories whr you will gain more insights about the Hindu gods and goddesses and their significant characters . And yes, according to the mythology, they did walk on planet earth and many geographic areas of India are mentioned in the stories. To start with, I suggest reading works of Devdutt patnaik.

You will definitely enjoy your trip.

I think you got Saraswati confused with Parvati or Durga not that they are all not one they are, Kali comes from the forehead of Goddes Durga/Parvati different forms of the wife of Shiva. Saraswati is also mother goddess but she is the goddess of knowledge wife of Bramha.

Well that certianly clarified a lot for me. This topic has a specific interest to me. Recently I came across 1 specific song that grabbed hold of my body and had it moving in ways it never has, the energy was sexually charged and my body shifted and moved in new rythems and ways. I have to disagree with part of your description, I understand you are in India trying to search for the "Truth" about it all, but in doing so, I am sure you have heard LOTS of different stories.
