As someone who loved Ryse, this game speaks to me. I just want to come home from work, kill things, get loot, and kill stronger things. What is this game supposed to give you? Open world? Platforming? Dialogue choices? This is a niche game that will speak to a few. That said, I get frustrated by publishers setting ridiculous price points and wondering why their game didn’t sell. It’s one thing if gearbox developed this game since they’re proven, but a developer most people haven’t heard of making a new IP that goes up against demon souls and spider-man and you charge full price? At $30-$40 you could have pulled in more people. The price alone will scare people off, plus no cross play or matchmaking, did they want the game to fail?

Yeah. Even the trailer for this didn't make the storyline even remotely appealing. It's such a generic idea that's been done so many, many times before. Even watching the brief gameplay videos did nothing for me, either--it's just a very generic slash n' loot n' upgrade n' repeat style of game with cool suits and average-looking environments. Unfortunately, this gameplay is also a dime-a-dozen and been done many, many times before in forgettable iterations that differ in terms of how much they took advantage of their platform's graphic capabilities and nothing more. I expect to see dozens of copies of this game populating the used sections of GameStop in about a year or so.

You can feel that in the combat, to avoid the OP build or build everyone uses, they made all the builds viable by making it a little too simple. While you can have fun trying out new builds, you realize it also doesn’t matter. You could just focus on basic attacks and buffs and that get you through just as well as the combos and mechanical builds. As oppose to other games like MH and DS, while having their tier systems, also give a better sense of reward for thinking up unique loadouts or having you preserver with a “lower tier” weapon but that better suits your taste or play style and finding ways in make your choice more viable.

This seems like it could be such an amazing game that could rival Monster Hunter, if it had another Year to develop the story, loot game and maybe bring the 3 worlds together into a single massive unique open world. Especially if it had a Dark Souls like NPC quest system where you find NPCs in the open world where you can complete quests alongside them and they can in turn help you face off against your brother. For example, let’s say at the start of the game, there was one NPC who wasn’t too hard to find but just out of the way enough to reward you for exploring, and this NPC could help flush out the world and build the player character, maybe explain how their father, the former king ruled well and took care of everyone, but then (the player character) did not, he was too busy fighting with his brother for the throne to care about his people’s suffering. Then this could incentivize the player to seek out and help these NPCs throughout the Open World. And to further boost the reward of having these NPCs support you in combat, maybe boost the HP and damage of all the enemies overall. Not by a lot, but a noticeable amount.

I'm really enjoying this game. After you level up, you start feeling unstoppable (except for some bosses that can be tough). I don't know why this game gets so much hate. The story is not the best, but the gameplay mechanics, and the RPG elements make up for it.

Damn, I feel so bad for everyone who worked on this game. The majority of this video was just negative feedback lol.. I hope they all keep their heads up and work towards creating a better project in the future to redeem themselves. They should still be proud for this creation for what it is. I think as a launch title it gives players a basic feel of what next gen is about, i think this is a fair review and feel that going forward games will capitalize on these mechanics and improve by creating bigger and more immersive experiences for fans in future.

The boss fights are definitely enjoyable. And the bonus content after finishing a mission is nice since the difficulty of the mobs ramps up significantly. I'd agree with your ratings

Should've just been a pure action game, ala Bayonetta and DMC...we have enough loot based games as it is, there is plenty of choice for the consumer there. Really frustrating how western developers and publishers won't fill the gap in the character action/spectacle fighter market, we don't really get many games there....:(

No mans sky was a mans dream. One that had a grand scope and with every update has built on that scope. The product was an experience. This game is pure splash art. Not hating it because of that. It is very sweet to the eyes. The scope of the experience doesn’t get any larger than mentioned - repetitive missions to acquire higher numbers. This product is not developed as an experience but more so a Pavlov simulator.

Dude, you completely skipped out on Tower of Trials. Why wasn’t this part of the review? That is supposedly the major bulk of the endgame. Dreamstones is only a portion of the endgame. You also didn’t even touch base on the multiplayer aspect of the game which would have made the “repetitiveness” more enjoyable.

He complains that games are still like this in 2020, then why are major game reviewer corporations still doing the same rushed reviews. Thats why people like SkillUp, AngryJoe, etc. are more trustworthy because they actually spend time on the games. Its ok to give negative reviews, but if you are giving a negative review without playing it fully, then its a bad review. Its like eating an Orange and you only ate the skin and membrane.
