I remember being on the dole in 1977 and wanting this box set concept album so bad, .. it took me 3 weeks to muster up the money to buy it.. One of the best album purchases I ever got. I managed to shake Kevin Godley's hand at the BBC in 1981 when he appeared on Top of the Pops with Wedding bells.

I bought this masterpiece back in 1977. Truly amazing, with the late great Peter Cook. As I listen to this, I can’t help think ‘how true’ this incredible story is, as nature seeks its revenge on the human race, for the destruction of this beautiful planet.💚

YES, an album i've never heard! i often saw the treble album box back in the 70's......and was intreagued by the creature face -like a lions head in the clouds -on the front!! its a real trip isn't it? just listened to sides 1 and 2 !!! took me far away to another dimension!!

Whether inspired by hash or Frank Zappa this became the movie music for your ears. Overly ambitious and way ahead of the curve actually... they were the curve. Years later they both acted like it was an albatross but secretly they have to be very proud. Truly more Progressive then most well-known progressive rocker.

In England (I reckon) did your album come in a thin black box with a picture book of the songs "wind", stampede, etc? It cost $40.00 in the U.S. at the time.

I did my first acid trip to this album(s) when it came out. I'd bought it, listened to it in bits and pieces, then someone sold me some acid after work one night, did 2 hits. Felt so good after an hour or so, i did the other 2. Someone said "Get him home quick" I guess they didn't want to be responsible for whatever happens next... Anyhow, I put on the album and started listening on my headphones. After the 6th and last side finished playing, I turned out the lights (It was getting late) and found I couldn't sleep. The room disolved and I found myself in Dr. Suess Land. Characters in 3D coming at me and honking their faces. I could taste the colours and feel the house breathing... I came out of it a few hours later, went to the bathroom splashed some water on my face, looked into the mirror and fell into the pools that were my eyes! Where was I? Oh yeah! Consequences! Never heard anything like it since, and love that it is here to listen to again!

I was a bit familiar with 10cc along with a few songs. When I bought this album it was mainly with interest of what they did with the device for the guitar called the Gizmo short for Gizmotron. I read about it somewhere and it was said this thing was the next great invention of the music world. Well I think they accomplished what they were after as far as the many different sound effects throughout the whole album. Sounds great cranked on headphones. Aloha!! Aloha!! Aloha.

I can remember taping from my big brother I took it to the dentistry at guys hospital the dentist was getting me confident with the needle he asked me if he could borrow the tape which I did I then found out that he had pranked a colleague who was being put under as he was being put under he decided to play the burial scene nice timing great fun

The only bad thing about it, at all, was the timing of it’s release. But how could they have known about the Punk Rock explosion to come ? Such a crying shame. I understand it knocked Kevin Godley quite badly. All I can say is, “ Don’t beat yourself up. It’s a slow burner and it’s gathering more and more recognition all the time. I myself, loved it from the get-go ! “

The Flood is the only G&C / 10cc Track I ever heard on the OGWT. Criminal when you think about it. KG once said we were never appreciated as the press and media had no pigeon hole to put them in. As an aside I often wonder if the scene at the end when the band and the fans are washed away by the flood , is G&Cs subconcious way of putting 10cc finally behind them or was it actually concious /

I remember when this came out, one Australian critic rated it D minus, and put it in his list of Top Ten Worst Albums of the Year. He never liked triple album box sets from prog-rock acts!

"Description: Refugee." Sounds like the "Syrian Refugee" invasion of Europe. Not only was this album way ahead of it's time, it was also prophetic in many ways. Godley & Creme are unsung musical geniuses.
