The mausoleum has been treating me nicely as well. My very first run the first skeleton I killed dropped a Jah which I have never dropped such a high rune in 20 years of playing D2.

In my first week of farming on release a skeleton dropped a vex for me in there, One of the highest runes I've dropped to date. It was one of the only areas I was actually able to farm at the time with half quick time and not a huge risk of death

0:57 "The Axe that looks good, but is actually bad". Man! You couldn´t be more wrong :-D .... it´s basically a Diablo-Killer-Weapon: Fire Absorb and 308% damage to demons. Try it out: stand in front of Diablo and ask him to kill you. In the worst case you need a Fire-Absorb Ring. Of course there are better Items nowadays, but back in the day, it was an Option, if you were lucky enough to find one early!

This spot is when you are new in Hell. together with Tristram, Countess, and the new updated zones in Act 1 and Act 2, i think we have really cool options to farm now. I changed my tactic - i no longer rush to Hell so fast. Spend like 65-70`s in Nightmare and then go to Hell. It seems that more items i find in Nightmare till 70+

Yep. I always farm Maus when I'm brand new to Hell difficulty. I pity the fools who didn't know to exploit this area. No fire immunes, no frost immunes. I found a zod very early in a ladder farming this area.

Mausoleum is a great place to farm very early in the ladder just after you get to hell difficulty, but your character is still too weak to farm the Pit.

Easiest is lower kurast act3. Just stay alive there and teleport from treasure to treasure with sorceress.

Keep in mind that 1-player-games have the lowest drop amount and quality. 4-8 players raise amount and quality enormously. Can't imagine that people say they didnt drop high runes in years. After the rune drop rate raise years ago, I found some high runes every season I played a bit. At lower kurast u just open any stash. I'd never use games with less than 4 players for farming.

it just sucks that sooo many unique items (NM, Hell items) are obsolete with runewords :| it's a shame. 1.09 will always remain the true d2. (aside from some qol things)
