Thanks for watching! In this Godot Game Engine tutorial I cover:
- A little about the Godot Game Engine (history, development, technology used, etc)
- Where to download the Godot Game Engine, and what platforms it is available for. (www.godotengine.org, for Win / Mac / Linux)
- Godot's Interface: panels (docks), workspaces, viewports
- How to navigate the 3D viewport: mouse and keyboard view controls, splitting the viewport into multiple view. Keyboard shortcuts for views (front/side/top)
- Introduction to Nodes: building blocks of a Godot game, which are created in a node 'tree'.
- Creating a 3D scene including rigid body objects, static objects, collision shapes, light and camera.
- Playing a game scene with physics running where blocks fall and tumble on the ground floor.
Thanks for watching, and don't forget to Like & Subscribe to help the channel! =)

I was looking for a C++ tutorial for GoDot but the love in your comments is keeping me here for the series! Bad math teacher after bad math teacher left me with a weak fundamental set of skills in that subject area, game development has really piqued my interest in not just programming or game design, but going back to teach myself Algebra 1, 2, College Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, and eventually the Calculus books I slogged through attempting to keep up in a college class. It's encouraging to know there are teachers out there implementing game engines into the curriculum if nothing else but to help students visualize what happens as you manipulate a function or play with the fundamental concepts of physics. A popular math website that covers the basic concepts has a SUPER COOL animation of a sine wave with the corresponding in-real-time graph of the unit circle below it. Seeing the beauty of that really hit me that all those years of hating mathematics was simply because there wasn't a way to 'put it into practice', or to see what those concepts really mean when they're calculated with time. Kids really need to SEE it to believe it and I hope video series like this one teaching the open source engines draw more of the younger generation into programming and mathematics because I certainly wish I had it and I'm only 26! In addition, the logic of programming I find incredibly healthy because it challenges you, forces you, to alter your perspective and think from another point of view. Thank you for all of your work and I'm excited to get started!

Started this year to work on videogames, first used Krita, changed to Blender and from another game-engine to Godot. Worked a lot with frames I shot of my characters in Blender and thought about going 3D now, but had no idea about how it works. Found your tutorial and it is great! You explain very well and I understood everything directly - by this the start with 3D becomes fun instead of an annoying thing. Thank you for your tutorial, you've got my subscription right away :)

Thank you. This is my first introduction to the Godot engine. I've spent the last 3 years learning different engines and 2 years on Unreal. A friend suggested I try Godot. It seems very user friendly. When i saw you also used Blender, I had to try your video. I enjoy your voice and the tutorial timing is just right for a beginner. Godot has a lot of similarities to Unreal. You just have to know where to look. I'm truly looking forward to this course.

This is pure gold. For someone who has no experience in game development this is a brilliant and so much inspiring. Anybody needs to start somewhere and it is truly respectfull in terms how you deal with the users with little programming knowlegde here. Yes, it might be obvious to other people that you do this and then that, but for me it is not. It is so well explained, with all details needed, so you start to understand what this is all about. Also this section with errors is excellent too. You might have great potential in becoming a great game developer but if you are struggling too much and your problems are considered to be obvious for anyone else so nobody even bothers to inform you that you actually might be missing some small details, then the only thing you will get is the frustration and you will give up eventually. Therefore, this is so cool that you are spending time on the basic problems like error because there is no mesh assigned to the new object, etc. I have been trying to make something in Unity. Changing the resolution to make it look more like pixel art seemed to be a challenge: new camera, new canvas, new raw texture, some coding and you are done... If something as simple as that requires some advanced knowledge = piss off. This is my first day I tried Godot and I feel such relief that someone thought of non programmers. Thank you and cheers!
