so upgrading from AD200 to the pro one is not that necessary right? even u dont use the color stability mode. I mean to correct color is achievable by using RAW format right?
@robhallphoto4 жыл бұрын
I stated my piece on that in my review of the ad200 pro. Color stability isn't really about whether or not you can fix it in raw. It's about having more consistency between shots to reduce adjustments image to image, resulting in faster processing time for large volumes of images, such as people who shoot products or e-commerce clothing. It's about having lower variance between multiple lights, something you can't fix globally in raw and would require time-crushing masking to adjust. There's no single answer to whether it's worth it or not, as the impact of the improvements will be felt differently depending on the photographer.

@LakshayGrover4 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial. What is the difference between the rectangular sealed flash that came on the strobe vs switching out the head and put halogen glass like bulb that came with it?
@robhallphoto4 жыл бұрын
The Fresnel head (rectangle) has a 35mm beam angle and creates a more concentrated beam of light that is harsher. But compatible with speedlight modifiers like Magmod attachments. The barebulb (halogen-glass like) fires light in all directions, which is better for spreading light as most studio modifiers are designed for, like softboxes, beauty dishes, reflectors, etc.

Hi Robert, another superb video. Any idea what the 2 lines of numbers are when you long press the Set button, mine display Cannel A 0300 and 0020 . Can't find any reference in the manuals, the only entry on the internet is guessing at a reduced power level, does not seem likely
@wilkbor4 жыл бұрын
Excellent. This was very helpful. A general question for Robert, or anyone else who might know: When using this flash in combination with gels, is the temperature set by the gel and held at that level, or can it vary in the same way a bare bulb might vary. Thanks again for the video and any feedback....

This was great and really helpful for me to understand the functions but I am still no closer to understanding how to connect the ad200 pro to my Canon m50. Any ideas? The instruction manual has me totally lost...
@robhallphoto2 жыл бұрын
Unless you were using some type of physical sync cable, you don't connect the AD200 to your camera. The AD200 is controlled and fired by a transmitter, which connects to your camera via the hotshoe.
@veryimportantpooches26192 жыл бұрын

I really enjoyed most of this video, it gave lots of info in a short period of time and it was well executed. However, when you were explaining menu item F8 (color stable mode) I couldn't tell if you were saying the color is better with it on or off. At one point you said "with stable color mode on will decrease the range of colors that this flash produces." Then you went on to say "so the light is a lot more accurate with stable color mode on." Can you please explain? Thank you
@robhallphoto2 жыл бұрын
In photography you tend to want consistency between images. Therefore, less “range of colors” = better / more accurate.

Is there a way to make it so that power level is not reset to full power after taking a photo?
@frankdecock27352 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, thanks for these instructional videoes that are always inspirational. Among other ones they led me to buying the Godox AD200 Pro recently, even if I already had 2 Godox V860iii speedlights. Now, what you do not cover in this video, and what I fear is an undocumented feature, I discovered this by accident. And it has to do with the color stability or color temperature mode (C). Even with that turned off in F8, try this... Put the unit in M mode and long press the Set button. The display changes and shows 2 numbers on top of each other and the (C) symbol turns on. My unit shows "330"on top and "0000" below that. Turning the dial increases/decreases the below number which actually seems to range 0010-5600. So to me that sounds °K... The mode button and the Gr/Ch button increase respectively decrease the top number which ranges from "100" to "330". Which doesn't ring a bell at all. In order not to mess anything up I simply reset the unit to factory settings. Also, turning the unit off and on again makes these numbers disappear. However, the unit still has C.Fn 8 turned on ! Do you have any idea what these settings are all about ? So far I cannot find any relevant info. Anyway, keep this magnificent channel up and running ! Regards, Frank
@robhallphoto2 жыл бұрын
Hey Frank, definitely never heard of this - although not surprised as I just learned about a secret, undocumented feature on another Godox product. All my AD200's are in the studio, so I'll check it out next time I'm in there.

Thanks so much for the Vid, very appreciated. Got a question for ya: I’m using a 200ADPro & XproC. I’m often off camera, remotely hand holding 200ADPro & remote triggering the camera -using a remote-, however I’ve found the XproC will override any setting I have on the 200ADPro. Is there anyway to stop this so the Xpro will simply trigger the flash & not override it’s settings? (Currently the only workaround I’ve found is to put the Xpro in APP mode (and not use the app) - but this seems a bit backwards? Is there a better or proper way to do this?) Thanks heaps.
@Dididong112 жыл бұрын
Would like to know the answer for this too. From what i know of godox system, if u change the setting on the remote trigger, it will override on the light itself. So the best is change your power setting on the remote instead of on the light

Does the round head still brighten with the old ad 200 and brighter than the furnel
@robhallphoto9 ай бұрын
Does it function as a flash with the AD200? Yes. Is it brighter than the fresnel? No. The fresnel focuses light into a more narrow beam and that smaller area would be brighter than the round head’s larger/more even area.
