It was amazing and I didnt expect it to be that powerful actually. I plan to do a follow up on the actual usage of the flash.

Set your camera to M manual mode. Set flash to M manual. Start with these settings: 1/4 power, f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/125 of a second. You want the background lighter? Then slow the shutter. Take a few test shots.

Yup~! Its a great unit. Mine still works great. Also it doesnt use the battery when you dont use it for a long time. The battery is saved.

I wonder if the deflector change anything compared to a "classic" flash ? Is the light less harsh ?

That will depend on the reflector size and also the material it is made out of. You can adjust the output setting or add other accessories to soften the light.

Yup. I plugged it in just now. Kept firing just fine.

When putting the flash away, I never felt any hot temps.

Shouldn't the hot shoe work if you don't use the sync cable? You don't need to use the sync cable if you're using it with a hot shoe compatible camera?

It all depends so make sure you test with or without and dont forget to also slide a paper in the hot shoe for troubleshooting.

The hot shoe will trigger the flash on its own. The sync cable is for Cameras without a functioning hotshoe.
