Thank you for the systematic, thorough tutorial It definitely helped me! The only part I was stuck was syncing the V860ii(Sony) to the XPro (Sony) trigger. I could have used a bit more coaching there. I ultimately powered off both units and was able to synch them. I'm not sure if the powering off helped? Or if I was just pressing one button wrong. Also, changing channels was a bit tricky for me. I had one unit set to channel 1 and one set to channel 20. I would not have gotten these two devices to work without your tutorial thought. For the a6000 the v350s or this one is more suitable ?
@SeeItLoud4 жыл бұрын
@@apchan Hey there! Good question... I have the a6300 as my smallest camera and I think its virtually identical (in terms of body shape/size) aside from a few features. I do not own the v350s so I cant speak directly to it. However, given the skinny price difference, I would lean towards the v860ii. It has been my most used speedlight i have ever owned...to include when I was a nikon shooter and had their own name brand flashes. Now, one reason I WOULD go for the v350s is because of its form factor. If you are looking for something to fit in a small bag and not be too bulky on the a6000... it makes sense. But... If you think you will ever upgrade to a larger sony body... I would opt for the v860ii. Hope this helps! reach out if you have any other questions

Hi Kylie, I really like your video. My question is, does the Godox V860 II have any light, lamp, or infrared that in darkness, for example? find the Sony A7 III at the wedding at the dance. Thanks in advance. Hi. Robert
@SeeItLoud4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, thanks for your feedback! That’s a good question - it does not have any modeling lamp or anything like that. It does have a laser focus system that is pretty spotty, especially with Sony. I have had intermittent success with the v860ii and my Sony A7iii. It may be a firmware issue or something... but I never needed it so I didn’t try to hard to get it to work. The V1, on the other hand, will fire the laser focus system almost every time I am shooting in poorly lit or dark areas. Either way, the beams will only fire when the camera is in TTL mode (because it has to meter the light and send that info to the flash). For whatever reason, I don’t think you can manually select to trigger the focus beams every time. I have heard that the focus beams on all Godox speedlights work much better on canon and Nikon... i am not sure why Sony just won’t work 😅 Anyhow... I hope this helps. And you have inspired me to make a video about Godox flashes, Sony cameras, and laser focus beams 👏🏻

Hi! I'm quite the beginner when it comes to flash photography. I have the godox flash you have. Do I need to buy a receiver too? Or just the transmitter trigger? Which one do you recommend?
@SeeItLoud5 жыл бұрын
Hi there Lena, I am happy to help you here. With this godox flash, you will not need a receiver. The flash itself has a built in transceiver (receiver/transmitter). So, if you have it on your camera... it can act as a trigger for other flashes. If you want it off camera, then you will need a trigger to send info from your camera, but you will not need an additional receiver - the flash can receive info on its own. I recommend the Godox X Pro, it’s got a big screen and plenty of buttons...easy to read and control. The other option is the Godox X1 which is slightly less expensive and can do the same thing - in my opinion its just harder to use... plus it bonks me on the head when i put my face up to the camera.

Hi Kyle, many thanks for the very helpful tutorial. I just bought a Godox V860ii-C, which I've mounted on a Godox softbox. I want to fire and control it from my Canon 50D. I do have a flash trigger on the camera hot shoe, but it's part of a Jenbei Caler studio flash system, so I guess I need to replace it with a compatible Godox flash trigger. What is the part number of the trigger I should buy? I'm particularly interested in using the V860ii-C in high-speed sync mode to freeze liquid pouring or powder pouring shots. Do you have any tips or another video on this technique?

Kyle; I update both the Godox and Mk4 with Godox's and Sony's current firmwate and menus still don't work properly. By corrupted I mean when I press the mode button it fails to cycle through M, TTL, etc., when I press other buttons, it fails to cycle through the options. When I set the Godox in TTL and turn on the camera, the TTL switches to slave mode with no prompting on my part. I recall the Godox worked on my Mk3, but not on the Mk4. I'm guessing the hotshoe interface is different from the 3 to 4, but I'm only guessing.
@petersharples87484 жыл бұрын
Hi Kyle, informed by your great videos, I now have successfully operated my Godox Softbox-mounted V860ii-C from an X1-PRO controller on the hot shoe of my Canon 50D. Can I trouble you with two more questions: 1. I had hoped to control a Jinbei Caler studio flash on a second light stand with the X1-PRO as Group B, but the X1 PRO doesn't seem to communicate with the external receiver on the studio flash. This is a 2.4 GHz, 16-channel Jinbei TR-A9. Do you know whether the two units are incompatible? The second question is this: What do I need to do or buy to be able to stand near my subject (an action pouring shot) to operate the camera and flash remotely, with the X1-PRO in my hand? Do I need another receiver on the camera hot shoe?

I have the Fuji version but I still can't stop the V860 from firing when used as a Master and pressing the Test button to fire another flash like you did with the AD200 on your - great, informative and to the point, by the way - video. Is it because pressing the Test button would fire it anyway? I must admit I didn't try it with the flash mounted on any of my Fuji cameras.
@SeeItLoud5 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge - Hitting the test button will always fire the flash. Do you want to use this as a commander only? Or you want to test the light from another flash and use it just to trigger that flash - and still use the 860 in your lighting setup?

+Nazim Contreras hey Nazim, I think I can help you out on this one. you can tell the flash to use a certain zoom or use Info from the camera. The top left button is the Zm/C.Fn button. You tap this and the zoom setting will be highlighted, then you spin the dial to what you want it to be. “A” at the bottom is for auto and 200mm is the furthest you can zoom in. I just pulled mine out to verify that you can do this in all modes and it looks likes it is ever locked. Please let me know if this helped, I’m happy to work you through it. Thanks for watching!
