"I love Jacob Zuma" That is the problem with black people when it comes to politics; they think it's about love or hate. They think it's similar "Khosi for life" or "once a pirate always a pirate"; it's not. Politics is about electing the best people for the job; we are the boss, they are job seekers and we decided which of them gets the job. We should judge them on character, on track record and not just what they tell they are about. We need to disabuse ourselves of the expectation that any of these guys is here to save and realise that it is us who should run things by electing the people who can deliver. And they fail us then we change them; until we clear of bad apples.

The Case for Jacob Zuma always amazes me. He is one of those rare cases where instead of focusing on the contents relevant to the subject, we are more interested on the subject or the man. Unfortunately, this is a true reflection of black South African's interllectual culture and orientation, whereby a large part of our understanding regarding how the world works is based around conspiracy and normative analysis, uttering value judgment or simply put things that we can neither prove to be true or false instead of focusing on what the facts say. This is a serious problem, because every argument that revolves on anything but facts leads to me saying one thing you saying the other and the only consensus reached is "Let us agree to disagree". What are the facts regarding Jacob Zuma? 1) Zuma has been in leadership of the ANC and government collectively for just about 35 years. As far as only government is concerned, he's been the Deputy president of the country for 6 years from 1999 to 2005, he's been the president of South Africa for 9 years from 2009 to 2018, a total of 15 years. Just for context the ANC has been in power for 30 years and for 15 of those 30 years Zuma has been either the number 1 man or number two man, not just in government but in the ANC and his power in the ANC has been greater than in government as he has been the Deputy president of the ANC for 10 years and the president of the ANC for 10 years a total of 20 years in just ANC leadership. By these facts we can not we simple can not talk about the failures of the ANC and its Government without talking about the likes of Zuma. Who out of a 100% of rule 50% is relevant to him, and not only did he lead an ANC he led an ANC that was powerful, powerful enough to change whatever laws which he believed were not in the interest of black South Africans and bargain to advance their interests. 2) Nota says in this time he was not as powerful and was only as powerful as the ANC orders him to be. He wasn't advancing his vision only the one assigned to him by the ANC. Say this is true, it would mean we really can not hold any ANC leader accountable for anything. We could simply say it was not them it was the ANC. Weather it's Mandela, Mbeki, Zuma or ramaphosa. But also it would contradict the fact that in his time of power he did very well in advancing his own interest and the interests of his family. This is the same guy who's children got rich during his presidency and their wealth is in relation with the Gupta family who were able to capture the state and SOEs something that could have not been possible without the authorization of the president Jacob Zuma. And all of these are documented in the state capture report. 3) people always make the case that they were more black Millionaires during Zuma's presidency and this is in fact true. But the rise of black Millionaires was in direct correlation with the loosening up of the provision of tenders. Which led to people getting tenders even when they were not capable of doing the Job. When R100 million tender required one to show R10 million of capacity, during zumas term even if you didn't have R10 million of capacity you would get the tender and this led to a series of unfinished gorvenment projects, weather it's roads, schools, toilets all where not done due to that corruption. So yes they were many black Millionaires but at what expense? At the expense of unfinished roads which continue to kill people, pit toilets through which children still fall in and die, schools not being built and endangering the future of this country. That was the trade off of black Millionaires during zumas presidency. So my question how much of it is a good thing when a drug dealer brings up young men in his community in the drug game, financially empowering them through selling drugs, the very same drugs that are killing the community? I could go on with this topic but I'll leave it here

One thing that our people must understand is that leadership will never be about one person or messiah or savior complex. People slip into roles of power, most roles which are inherently unnecessary in their creation. The conscious world leaves no openings for prideful messiahs, as conscious souls have exited the realm of so named worship & obsession programming. This system government in which a single ruler (a tyrant) the exercise of power is misused. But that the story for another day.

@Mevcompany So even after the Guptas have been given so much by Zuma, you want them back again. South African taxpayers have been hard done by Zuma and his friends, so you want them back again. Let us be honest, the ANC has let us down as South Africans. MKP is ANC under disquise, so he messed up big time that old man. Even EFF is just remnants of the ANC. Stop playing the race card, our politicians are in it for themselves and nothing else. I am 66 years old ANC used to be a noble organization and I was an ardent supporter of this organization. Today we are led by a bunch of thugs and nothing less. The last time I voted for them was for Jacob Zuma, how I regretted that. Even Ghana has has a change of leadership, Africa is waking up to corrupt leaders now. Botswana has also changed its leaders after 65 years of the same ruling party.
