I have never read Superman before until this year, from the shows and movies he always seemed so unrelatable to me. I was convinced to read Superman For All Seasons and it completely changed my mind. the story is heartwarming and amazing, the art is insanely beautiful and its in my top 5 reads of the year so far! So glad I was convinced to give it a try

I'm currently reading Strange Adventures. There's this one panel of Mister Terrific after he hit Sardath back. Made me go from liking Mr. Terrific to getting hyped to seeing him in a movie. Also casting is great as Mr. Gathegi deserves better after how First Class did Darwin dirty. Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow is probably going to be one of my next buys. I know the story as well as anyone can without reading it

I own 2 copies of Strange Adventures yet I’m still so tempted on the deluxe edition. I have the trade of Supergirl signed but the deluxe is a day one buy for me!

@@MoramothHauntz I should do an update, but what might help you is to go to my early video on all the ways to collect Sandman and I break down the different formats. But essentially, there’s the regular individual comic Then there’s a trade paperback, which is a collected version of a few of those comics, or a standard size hardcover, which is the same thing, but hardcover A deluxe or an omnibus would be larger and hardcover, so larger than the original size Lastly, an absolute is giant, and comes with a slipcase

@@MoramothHauntz dead earth has been one of the best books I’ve read this year! Infinite frontier was an awesome beginning, followed up by Justice league Incarnate which got even better, but sadly dark crisis the third book in the trilogy didn’t really stick the landing for me..

I struggle to understand Warner Bros, and the people they back to steer their ship. Marvel and DC have always borrowed, stolen and mocked one another's characters and designs but this has resulted in the best content for thr readers. The competition between the giants has brought out the best in each other. So you look to the big screen, seeing how the MCU was carefully built. Marvel lacking some of their biggest names (Spiderman, Xmen, Fantastic Four, the full rights to Hulk, etc) yet they backed their best of the rest - *Iron Man, Captain America & Thor* backing them up with Hulk (qualitiy over quantity), Black Widow & Hawkeye. Giving solo movie focus on characters so the casual audience could become familiar with these characters that they may not have read. They brought in the likes of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Antman, Captain Marvel, etc who the casual audience will likely have had little to no understanding of these characters BUT due to the legwork done with the more recognisable characters it helped audiences buy into these _'new'_ characters that they didn't know. Even the way the MCU teased Thanos for so long before everything built towards him 👏👏👏 On the other side, we have Warner Bros who released Man Of Steel, which had it's criticism (Superman murdering Zod, the devastation of thr city, etc) which should have been the _Iron Man_ foundation movie. But instead of giving us a Batman solo movie (not another origins movie but one to show the older, darker Batman to audiences and to show the loses he's faced) as well as the Woman Woman movie (ending with the tease of Luther having gained evidence of her long life - something lost on me trying to take in BvS all at once). But yeah, Warner Bros finally drew a line to reset their projects, bringing in Gunn & Safran to oversee and lead the rebooted universe.... and the first thing I'm seeing is they're rushing to throw all of these lesser known IPs at audiences 😐 absolutely nothing learnt. DC fanboys will LOVE these movies aimed at them, whilst casual audiences without knowledge of these characters just wont bother checking these movies out. The MCU has lead me to getting into reading comics vis Omnibus format last year, of the 35 or so Omnibus I own 28-29 are Marvel, with the rest being Batman. Obviously I'm a unique example but it's showing how the movies are enticing newer faces into the comic hobby too.

I think the Creature Commandoes series is going to be heavily influenced by Frankenstein Agent of SHADE which is a book you are either going to love or hate. It's definitely not for everyone. The big issue alot of people have is the art which is a lot rougher than the covers would lead you to believe. You could also try the Flashpoint Frankenstein series which is very similar but maybe a little less polarizing.

​​@@TBATB I think you're thinking of the introduction of the pre-Flashpoint modern version of the Frankenstein character. I haven't read it myself so I can't speak to how much it relates to the post Flashpoint stuff. The Flashpoint version was called Frankenstein and the Creatures of the Unknown and was collected in the Flashpoint Green Lantern trade because Flashpoint collections be weird. It features most of the same main characters as Agents of SHADE with a similar backstory but more conventional art and a neater ending. I haven't finished the New 52 series but my understanding is that since it got cancelled abruptly at the end of the second year of the line, it leaves a lot of loose ends.

I really want a successful DC Cinematic Universe. But my most anticipated film is Swamp Thing. I was so irked when the tv series was canceled.

It’s necessary read JL international for Superman legacy? Thought that Gunn said once that he took elements from Superman birthright and Superman for all seasons and a bit from Geoff Johns Superman run, for the other hand Authority came first before Planetary hit stores, and there’s no hint that Planetary will have a production so i don’t think it’s necessary to understand the Authority besides their crossover and what do you think about the colored in Swampy absolutes????

I think reading JLI will familiarize you with many characters already announced for Legacy. Planatary was just a fun add in for me as a bonus. But I bet you’ll get a nod, Easter egg or tease haha. I actually don’t mind the recoloring but I understand why some people were sad about it.

@@TBATB yeah I asked because i have the trade paperbacks and when i compared with the absolutes i realized how they re-colored in sort of a bad way a few issues of swampy, loved planetary but I don’t think that Gunn would adapt that book soon, I’m still thinking wildcats are next

I feel ya on the being burnt, but seeing Gunn’s real passion for comics, especially for the lesser known B or C tier characters, I’m very excited/hopeful. His track record in both Marvel/DC, in my opinion, has me excited! The fact that right out of the gate he’s casting Booster Gold, Guy Gardener, Hawkgirl, etc. in a Superman movie just has me thinking this world is gonna be big.
