I love how Godzilla's arrival basically caused a small Tsunami in this film. It's one of the few films that takes into consideration what kind of impact his arrival would have on the environment. The only other Godzilla films to consider this was the 1954 original and Shin Godzilla (which I DEFINITELY recommend). Interesting enough, all three of said films (1954, 2014 & Shin Godzilla) were supposed origin stories and Godzilla was low-key frightening in each. Minus One did a great job in being scary, but lacked the sheer impact the other three had.

I understand that you may not know Godzilla very well, but just to be clear, King Kong never had a chance to even face Godzilla eye to eye without the help of weapons, armor from the script and an increase in size by 30 times so that he would not be crushed by Godzilla. Godzilla has fought beings capable of destroying worlds, created earthquakes with his strength and opened a tectonic plate in half, there are versions of Godzilla that are so powerful that they can end Goku and other cosmic beings, Godzilla has fought and defeated Marvel with its main heroes at their peak, and killed a super powerful version of Superman,among other feats of extreme powers

Kong Skull Island came first, set in 1973 Then came the TV show Skull Island, which was set in the 90's. Then we have a time jump to Godzilla, in 2014. Then we have another time jump to King of the Monsters in 2019 We jump to Godzilla VS Kong in 2024 Then Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire in 2027. In addition, there's another TV series called Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. This series has time jumps & flashbacks within its episodes, so I wouldn't watch this until after GXK.

I hate to break it to you genius but the Nazis were trying to do the same thing right along with Britain, Russia and a couple of other countries and we just happened to be the ones to do it first. If the heavy water plant wasn't destroyed by the allies that the Nazis were using the Nazis would have had it first. It's really irritating how this movie establishes such a grounded godzilla universe only for it to fly out the window 3 movies later. You watch him displace enough water to drown a city in this one, yet in gvk he's climbing onto aircraft carriers and doing WWE wresting moves on giant robots. Godzilla 2014 and king of the monsters were brilliant, and clearly written by people who love the franchise. The other ones are just discount marvel flicks.
