As I understand, after Godzilla vs Kong next year, Toho is planning another reboot. Shin Godzilla stands totally alone, and isn't getting a sequel as far as I know. I guess Toho's new films will be the "Reiwa" series, seeing as that's the era name in Japan with Naruhito ascending to the throne.

My introduction was Godzilla v. Mechagodzilla (the original) when I was six. I was instantly hooked! The Caesar chant was so spooky as a kid, and when he finally showed up he was wild to look at. Such a crazy movie, and very entertaining. Godzilla Minus One just came in as a crowning entry to the franchise, so much so that I would potentially even put it as the number one film to watch for beginners. At least number two behind the original. What a spectacle in theaters!

For monster fighting GMK, Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla, & Tokyo SOS would probably be the best ones to watch after.
