Most young reptiles are not raised by their parents, and are required to live on their own shortly after they hatch. I may be overthinking it, but those are just my thoughts.

I always thought, when watching the movies, "just imagine the destruction if he could move at a normal pace." Elephants have the same average running speed as humans. Big does not equal slow. So, I feel vindicated because this clear documentary evidence shows that Godzillas, regardless of size, really are just slow fellas by nature.

Don't even get me started on tortoises and turtles. All those rabbits lost stories? cuz they napped? all LIES. It's all they do to kids, feed them LIES. Tortoises/turtles walk/swim slow af only cuz they're not scared. But once they feel threatened for life, like say, when a cameraman moves close and they don't know why the human is closin up on them, they SPRINT for dear life. Rabbits can barely compare. Despite the shells and all, those creatures are fast af. Just look up youtube, so many videos of them running and people being surprised.

@@WoozyCool , Okay, so I watched those videos you mentioned and, yes, turts and torts can move faster than most people generally assume. That's a very valid point. However, comparing them to hares is a completely different question. There is no comparison. The animal the tortoise is running against in the fable isn't a pet/meat/pelt *rabbit* , but a wild hare. I invite you to look at videos showing hares running at top speed and compare to tort vids. There is a reason that greyhounds were bred for millenia into ridiculous speed demons. It was to catch hares. You don't need a 45mph hound to catch a tortoise.
