Call-back to the original Mothra film where twin priestesses controlled Mothra. 31:25 - Remember how in the Skull Island comments I said John Goodman's alien line was foreshadowing? 35:26 - That's right, Godzilla lives in f@#$in' ATLANTIS!! 41:36 - Hail to the king, baby. 53:25 - This is the head Godzilla tore off earlier in the movie.

Dr. Serizawa is my favorite character. Had some great lines that are for real life. After seeing it once before and knowing what happens, can't help but to get sad as soon as he said "ill go" for the bomb. He was originally supposed to say it in English but said "Goodbye old friend" in Japanese on his own. Definitely adds a lot to it. Also didn't know Bear Mcreary did the score.... loved his work in God Of War:Ragnarock

Rodan is actually not a bitch, funny enough. As far as Monsters go, he's actually a heavy hitter. He's just not in the same league as the Big Boys. There are a LOT of Kaiju in both the Legendary and original ToHo rosters, and Rodan's a solid B-Tier baddy when he's putting the work in. But Godzilla and Gidorah are top tier, and while Mothra is a fragile glass-cannon, she's also one of the smartest around. She's one of the only monsters to have a legitimate, straight win against Godzilla himself; No wonder he respects the hell out of her. Rodan was the lowest of the four in this battle, but it's no shame if you can go three rounds with the heavyweights and survive. Man, I hope Legendary survives long enough that we can get this kind of treatment for the truly terrifying monsters.

Mothra's final unfurling was the most awesome image on the big screen. And I'm glad they finally gave her a stinger. There is a split-second view of a spiky Anguirus skeleton in Atlantis, on the left-hand side of the screen, just before the nuke goes off. "Hey man, I'm gon' give this man CPR." Loved it. I also like how Madison runs into her building and takes time TO CLOSE THE DOOR. I guess the plan is to pretend she's not home when Ghidora knocks.

That part asking about his spines, they're actually unbelievably durable as you saw. In Dominion (the comic following this movie) it notes that he needs special rocks to even wear away at them when he's swimming in some ultra deep sea volcanic channel. Rubs his spines in the roof of the cavern to sharpen them.

I love that "Bow down or die" look Godzilla gives Rodan as the other Titans gather around him after delivering the kill shot on the last Ghidorah head with his Atomic Breath. Also, if you don't recognize Dr. Ilene Chen or her sister Ling Chen....their actress, Ziyi Zhang played Hu Li in Rush Hour 2. Also, I LOVE that they recycled the Toho Studios Godzilla theme music and roars for this movie. And the male soldier that said "I think it's got somethin' to do with his goddamn head growin' back." is O'Shea Jackson Jr., the son of rapper/actor Ice Cube.

Even if you didn’t like the overall plot or the characters, I think what everyone pretty much agrees on is that the musical score for this movie is one of the best parts. Bear McCreary did such an amazing job with the music. I love how he not only kept the original Godzilla theme intact but expended upon it in new and exciting ways. I also loved the cues he did with the other Kajiu monsters and you can tell that all of them sound different from each other. For example, Godzilla and Rodan uses male kakegoe-style chants/vocals. Ghidorah theme has male Buddhist chanting/throat singing and Mothra’s uses female vocals. The music is very bombastic, cinematic and just downright epic in the best ways possible. I also love the updated version of the Godzilla theme with System of the Down’s Serj Tankian doing the vocals and the drummer of Fear Factory doing the drums for the song. I love the music man!

Now Blank has to start you on a steady diet of the old school Toho kaiju eiga, so you can appreciate what inspired the Monsterverse. I'm sure you'll love them, as they run the gamut from serious to silly, but each is a gem in its own right. And as I'm always telling people, no matter how you feel about the Godzilla films, each one is someone's favorite. Or maybe you guys can take a vacation this fall and go on G-Tour 4 in Japan, and see some of the places showcased in the films. A travelogue of you in Japan would be hilarious!

This reaction might have had the most "dope" drops I've seen so far in your videos J lol this movie is absolute fan service for us lifelong Godzilla fans. The music (the original music) is amazing but the usage of the actual Godzilla and Mothra themes from the old movies is just, chef's kiss. The action is still top-notch stuff. And while the human story is, it is - it's not garbage like the first US Godzilla movie and doesn't really interfere in the monster v monster action. As for Mothra, as others have commented already, she sacrificed herself to give Godzilla her energy to help him. Mothra always lays eggs around the world (usually in Japan lol) and somehow transfers her "essence" basically into the new Mothra and she keeps coming back that way. It was hinted at in the newspaper stuff with the giant egg you saw mentioned. Also, if you noticed when Godzilla "explodes" with his red energy blasts, Mothra's shape is in the blast itself and you can hear Mothra's call/sound. It's just SO GOOD. Rodan, yeah, they kind of didn't use him much in the movie and he got ripped by everyone basically, but in the older movies he's a badass usually. And a sometimes ally of Godzilla actually.

So many people think a sacrifice at the end can redeem an evil person just because they changed their mind and went through some heroic death.
