And even though Toho has made multiple Godzilla movies where he is also like that or just straight up the hero. That means the last three Godzilla movies he hasn't been some action hero. He has been Godzilla, doing Godzilla things.

I actually think this is where Toho might've taken a 'few' cues from Gareth Edwards' work in the Monsterverse. Like look, not everybody has to love those for various reasons, but Gareth Edwards in the 2016 one displays a gift for cinematography, and making monsters 'feel' as big as they look, that few others come close to. And in this trailer I couldn't help picking out a whole lot of shots that really seemed to draw on his style of direction. But you know what, I'm fine with that because it looks incredible.

And while Godzilla Minus One is a much better movie than GvK, Hollywood will still pretend it doesn't exist. Btw, did you know that GMO only cost 15 million to make!? Even allowing for double that amount for marketing and distribution, this film has already soared into the profit zone. Take note Hollywood, we're giving our money to people who actually entertain us. Good luck in bankruptcy now that the free money has run out.

I love the dichotomy between toho Godzilla and Legendary Godzilla in how they are both pictured as forces of nature... makes me all the more excited for this movie. Legendary Godzilla is a hurricane, he doesnt care about humanity unless humanity is directly involving themselves in his business. Hes just there to do his job and defend his home Toho Godzilla is like a man-made disaster, what happens when you poke at earth too much and earth pokes back. Hes directly targeting humans in retaliation. Its two very different tones for the exact same character and we get to see both at the same time via different studios (given Monarch: Legacy of monsters will be releasing a month before this)

I see Toho’s Godzilla as the power of the atomic bomb and the people suffering from its power while I see Legendary Godzilla as us Americans using the atomic bomb and the people afraid of it but have to use it to save themselves. Toho created Godzilla as a representation of the bomb that nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, America was never bombed. We created the atomic bomb. So I think Legendary Godzilla being the antihero is more like a nuke we are using to save us, no matter how destructive it is. The citizens fear it but eventually realize it’s the only thing to save us. The legendary monster Godzilla fights in those movies to me represent enemy country’s attacking us and Godzilla being the nuke to make them surrender.

They can't die no matter what; they can light up the sea with the shining of their eyes/fins.. They both breathe fire... They both have scales; sharp teeth; ETC.. They both have similar titles.. Godzilla King of the monsters; and leviathan is called king of all beast in the bible.. in some translations he's king over the children of pride Even the director of Godzilla tweeted Leviathan verse toward godzilla.. Like I said the higher ups know Godzilla is the bibical Leviathan... God will release Leviathan in the end times to go after the wicked/Elites and the Elites already know this and that why they will the robots ready

This almost feels like a sequel to shin, the lines "Is that Godzilla?" and "It will never forgive us." Almost seem like there has been one before. Possibly the one in shin was this one's child. Shin was special, it could evolve like it did after all. So it was able to give it's mom the slip. But that doesn't make her any less angry.

I only want to touch up on this comment to say I think of Myth Busters when they did the bull in the china shop thing... a bull is actually very careful about walking around and not trying to smash into things if it can avoid it. Godzilla would be the same, if he's not angry/fighting of course and simply going from point A to point B he wouldn't be wreaking wanton destruction he'd be avoiding obstacles especially buildings since his sense of self preservation knows those could fall and hurt him (speaking from a standard animal point of view, we all know godzilla is a fucking tank, lol) I agree though, his footsteps, even if being careful not to hit things on the sides, would still be tearing up the ground and ripping things apart.

Children that are still too young to know that what they are seeing is not normal are being exposed to disgusting deviant content that is forcefully shown to them by hacking their devices. Many victims may not even know they have been targeted by this, because the majority of the actual sexual abuse happens when they are drugged or asleep, the only reason they might know is because the perpetrator may leave behind physical evidence, like bruises, scratches, or semen. If a victim discovers what has happened to them these worms will misuse equipment and manpower to stalk, shame, mock, and generally try to make the lives of the people affected by this as hellish as possible both offline and online. They follow victims in person and try to intimidate or harass them. They generally use different people who act as though they aren't affiliated with each other and don't do anything they can be arrested for at the time of the harassment. They think they can shame and mock their victims into silence because some of what happens is coerced. Godzilla feels like a force of nature that is both the consequences of the atomic bomb and also the natural disasters that always hits Japan like earthquakes and tsunamis. It's well known that Godzilla represented the fears that many Japanese held about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the possibility of recurrence. As the series progressed, so did Godzilla, changing into a less destructive and more heroic character. Now, this movie seems to be going back to his destructive roots as the wrath of nature since uranium and plutonium the main ingredients for nuclear bombs are both found in nature only to be transformed into a weapon by humans as shown in the Oppenheimer movie.

I thought it was still about ww2 and man made suffering revenge. Since they have soldiers in the trailer. And since Godzilla is making the explosions rather than coming after an explosion. Maybe this Godzilla is the spirits of the dead abused by their country soldiers or the spirit of the evil monstrous soldiers or the vengeful spirits of the people killed by the soldiers. Or a metaphor for them. More human than a natural disaster or nukes, an even more senseless human caused revenge. Or maybe someone just decided to test a bomb in the ocean and Godzilla is taking revenge for someone nuking it

I love that they kept the original '54 roar. That one in particular had a profound effect that meshed so well with the original movie. The other roars from King Kong vs Godzilla onward sort of deceased his fear factor despite of it being so iconic. And that was the first roar I heard! When I heard him roar for the first time in the 1954 classic, I was really taken a back because it wasn't the roar that I was used to. That one was much darker and terrifying than what I heard previously as a kid. The fact that they only used it when it called for it was a great effect, and it didn't overstay it's welcome. The terror and bone-chilling feeling of that roar combined with the actions of a horrific monster of gargantuan heights makes me think this is definitely trying to go back to Godzilla's roots in the most definitive, authentic way possible. Everything else with the setting, the design, the story; it seems this time Godzilla is going to be dark. Way more darker and sinister than he's ever been. I can't wait for December 1st

This looks amazing. I love where Takashi Yamazaki is taking Godzilla in this movie. This looks like it’s going to be a more serious film in the franchise like the original 1954 movie directed by Ishiro Honda. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing this Godzilla Minus One when it comes out in theaters. This truly is a great time to be a Godzilla fan.

I had a feeling that this is Japanese reply to Oppenheimer. Get ready for some right-wing stuff.

@@vogel2499this movie seems to be a lot like the first Godzilla which was VERY anti-military. So was Oppenheimer. neither of these movies were right wing.

I really hope this is as good as it looks. The music, the clips, the desperation in the quote “That monster will never forgive us.” The implied, defeated spirit of the man being scorned: “Everyone is dead-“ “You’re a disgrace!” To the stubborn will to carry on; “fight and survive.” And, the undeniable imagery of Godzilla’s disastrous rise paralleling the atomic devastation of Japan. It legit tears me up.

I love how this Godzilla is basically like a vengeful force of nature that seems to have an actual grudge against Japan instead of the gorilla fighting lizard hero. Kinda cool seeing him in a different light

Even Godzilla from the original King Kong vs Godzilla was like this, I honestly prefer Godzilla as this force of nature then some hero

That's what Godzilla is supposed to be. Godzilla is all the indiscriminate hate and destruction of modern warfare made real. Again and again, nature points out the folly of man.

I think they are taking inspiration from GMK 2001 where Godzilla is coming back to destroy Japan for the atrocities the Japanese army committed during WW2

I don't think anything will ever surpass the original just because of that black and white filming. Not that I mind if they want to keep trying.
