『ゴッドファーザー』は原爆を表現したトカゲの呼吸をする漫画よりも優れた映画だ、君らは実際の原爆を題材にした良い映画を作るなんて馬鹿すぎるのか?

One thing I get from your reaction. For most of the young foreign people (may be even Japanese), the incidents of WW2 seem to be a kind of fiction. I don't mean to blame, but just found that the impression of this movie is different to a certain extent by generation.

The title "Godzilla Minus One" refers to Japan being reduced to zero after the war, only for Godzilla to appear and push them into negative territory as they attempted to rebuild. A central theme in the film is life affirmation, exemplified by the use of a kamikaze pilot as the lead character. Our core group of characters survives, and even Godzilla remains alive at the end. Noriko's survival of the Ginza attack is attributed to Godzilla’s skin cells. When Godzilla uses his heat ray or atomic breath, it damages him, causing his skin to fall off. Thus, anyone in his shadow after the blast survives, which explains the dark growth on Noriko’s neck. This G-cell heals her, preventing her from appearing battered and bruised.

Before filming "Godzilla Minus One," Director Yamazaki made the film "Eternal Zero," which was about kamikaze pilots. Minus One also has a connection to Zero.

One reason that how this movie saved budget is that the director also did the direction of VFX and knew how it should be visualized.

JFYI on top of your great content. What mean “minus one" At that time, Tokyo was completely destroyed in the Great Tokyo Air Raid and was in a period of reconstruction. Then Godzilla appears and destroys it even more. “Minus one” means that. (Even before that, Tokyo had suffered devastating damage in the Great Kanto Earthquake.) Godzilla, who is the metaphor of God and living things, is a metaphor for them, and we are constantly being overrun by nature, war, and pestilence, but we must not give up and fight back! It contains those message in this movie. “Resist and live“ In 1945, The Tokyo air raids killed approximately 100,000 people in one night. After the war, the underground passage near Ueno Station, which was destroyed by air raids, was filled with war orphans who had lost their homes and families. According to a national survey, approximately 120,000 people were orphaned, and it is said that there were more than 1,000 orphans in the underground tunnels.

I'm 4 minutes into your reacton and have to point out.. it seems you guys don't know what the Kamikaze were.. He was supposed to fly his plane, with the bomb attached, into an American ship.. Kamikaze were suicide attacks. And no, he did not have a chance to get away in the plane. those old planes were slow, especially on uneven ground.. Godzilla would have seen it moving and attacked it

I am Japanese. I'm very happy to see so many people overseas responding to Godzilla-1.0. I just feel a little uncomfortable. Quite a number of people overseas laugh at the word "kamikaze" and wonder, "Why does Godzilla attack ordinary people at random?" I say it clearly. Godzilla was originally created as a symbol of the horror of war created by bombs and humans. Who was Japan at war with? The enemy did not attack military facilities, but targeted cities where ordinary people lived, resulting in the deaths of many civilians. (Of course, Japan at the time was often criticized for its militarism.) In the film, Tokyo, where Shikishima's parents live, is burnt to the ground because of air raids by the US military. Noriko's mother, Akiko's parents, and Sumiko's children all died in U.S. air raids. Kamikaze suicide squad members sacrificed their lives for their country at a young age to protect their families. That's why Godzilla attacks ordinary people indiscriminately. Shikishima's position and the scene of burnt-out Tokyo have deep meaning. I hope that the foolish act of war will disappear. I apologize for the poor English as it is a Google translation.

Thank you for this explanation because I feel that many people who are new to watching Godzilla movies are ignorant of his origin. I've seen all of the Godzilla movies, and I've loved them since childhood. This film especially tugged at my heart because of the story of sacrifice, redemption, and love. Long live Godzilla! ❤❤❤❤❤

To the creators of this video. I would like to thank you both for making this video AFTER the movie has been officially release on streaming instead of uploading pirated versions and reacting to them for views. Both of you are good men and deserve all the success on this channel. Thank you for paying respect to the creators and those who put their hard work into trying to get this movie released earlier but could not. Big thumbs up for this channel and big respect to you both. From Japan 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
