It depends most versions of Godzilla don't care and on the rare occasion they need to do stuff like clean out their gills if they swim in lava however there are a few specific variations that can be burned by lava so it really depends on which one you're talking about but generally no love it doesn't really have an effect on Godzilla in some cases it can actually make him stronger somehow but I chalk that up to the lava uncovering uranium deposits and whatnot

As someone who's played Gigabash recently, the game is a huge improvement over when it first started. The arcade mode and onslaught mode have given us more single-player replay value than before (the closest back then was just you fighting CPUs in Versus mode ), the fact that minigames can now be played both online & offline, and the inclusion of Godzilla, Gigan, Mecha Godzilla, and Destoryah is easily one of best guest fighters in a long time. I just hope in the future, they include more original kaiju & cities such as Las Vegas & London along with an original final boss & endings in arcade mode. As for guest fighters, my choices are King Kong, Gamera, Daimajin, and Mr. Stay Puff Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.

I'm a Gigan fan for the strangest reason. I remember playing Destroy All Monsters on the Gamecube with a couple friends. I loved playing as Gigan simply because of his adorable walking-strut animation. Whenever they hit me I'd start singing "I get knocked down, but I get up again!" and continue to strut along. Chest saws ftw.

But my favorite thing about it was the destruction itself and how interactive some stages were, like the one where you shoot the flying saucer to cause a tsunami. I'm yet to play a game that hits that spot for me. But yeah, I'm picking this up at some point for sure. Seems like a good time.

With Destoroyah, he's stupid powerful, although it IS excusable since, yknow, he's Destoroyah. He's got insane durability, high damage, the ability to fly and a lifesteal ability. If you're playing and a Destoroyah focuses you, run for your goddamn life.

There's a lot about Gigabash that seems really cool, but if they ever make a sequel I hope they try to convey a sense of scale better: Even compared to the Pipeswork godzilla games, let alone something like War of the Monsters, I really don't get the vibe that you're actually controlling giant monsters, so much as you are normal sized things in small playsets. I think even just a change to the camera could do a lot to help here (like at 11:36), but part of it also is bigger stages and a larger density of buildings

While I get what you're saying, I'd personally have have readability of where your monster is at all times, and being able to navigate the levels with ease, rather than accurate scale. Having tons of buildings all over can hamper things and get in the way of fights more than anything else. Maybe they can add a map or two that features that?

@@flophouseplays Right, it's obviously a tough balancing act, and something like a lower to the ground/over the shoulde rcamera has readability issues, as you say.. I also think the issue is less the density of buildings (like the beachfront stage here in your video has plenty) and more how quickly they get destroyed vs it being more incremental. Thinking about it more, I actually sort of think War of the Monsters solved the scale issue by,, ironically, reducing the scale of the Kaiju to less be Godzilla sized and more King Kong sized, which allows for larger stages and climbable buildings, but I imagine for some people that also may be undermine the fun of being truly giant? It's probably partially player preference too.... In any case, I am def interested in the game and will pick it up when I can. I hope Toho continues to work with them more in the future too, or at least doesn't de-list the DLC in like a year or two (it's such a shame the Ps4 game is impossible to find now due to that)

It’s the genre. It’s part War of the Monsters but also part Smash, and even part Overcooked. It’s a party game with a solid single player aspect. Normally these games have no single player.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the original Gigan design, but I don't hate it either, I just prefer the 2004 Final Wars Gigan over the 1972 design they used for him in the game.
