It was as real as anything else in that cartoon, it was very absurdist.

@@blacklady6098 It's not just that, the microscope you see at the end is the same one Dexter uses at the very beginning of the episode, so they're actually in a bit of a loop of some kind. This is actually one of the few times where the reason things are undone actually makes a lot of sense if you consider the fact that this establishes submolecular parallel worlds (like what you see in the MCU,) exist and the "resets" are due to the fact that Dexter, DeeDee, etc. chose a different path.
