I really don't like the old King Kong. In fact, I hate the old King Kong, I love Godzilla. But the Monsterverse's version of Kong really changed it. I love Kong as equally as Godzilla now. That's how good it is. I really would like to thank Legendary for not using the name King Kong, I just don't like it. It sounds childish.
