[MUGEN] WAIT OF THE WORLD

It's January 7th, guys! You know what that means!!! :D

~!! IMPORTANT NOTES, ADDED IN POST !!~
Sisyphus, and similarly Minos, have massive SFF and SND files.
Due to this, MUGEN doesn't really like them being loaded at the same time, and is likely to crash if you do.
A bandaid fix for this is to disable BufferedRead in mugen.cfg, which will at least allow them to be loaded at the same time, at the cost of a little bit of extra loading time.
Maybe change PlayerCache to be low too, if you want to play Arcade or Survival and have other large characters on your roster. Again, longer load time, less chance of crash.
The 1.1 4GB hack may also help, but I personally don't use it, so I can't confirm if it fixes it or not.
Unrelated, both Primes will be getting updated soon-ish to fix some bugs and add interactions between the two.

Is there a reason for why sisyphus ai is not as agressive as minos?. i put both of them against each other and minos stomped the guy and hell, even normal characters who have a good ai were beating his ass

he doesn't actually even have an AI right now, haaaaah :P default mugen ai is just pushing buttons w/ no thought! (mainly bc the deadline was important for the bit and i just BARELY hit it lol, i had to stay up late to finish up this vid!!) he'll be updated later tho, once i regain the energy, to be more ungodly than minos (plus some bugfixes for minos too like his simul crashes lol) -im gonna quickly pin this actually since i got asked this on discord too a bit ago so having the answer at the top might help lol-

I found out this existed from a gif in the Discord gif search results for Sisyphus I recognized as MUGEN and thought "no way someone actually made this". I’m floored with how good this is, Minos as well, been messing around with the two for the past few hours, they’ve actually gotten me interested in MUGEN again after a few years. Personally, i use MUGEN 1.1b1, the last beta of MUGEN 1.1 released before Elecbyte (the original creators) just kinda...stopped? The community is sort of split on 1.1b or 1.0, but I personally think 1.1b is the better choice due to the ever so slight more freedom it grants. archive.org/details/Mugen1.0 archive.org/details/mugen-1.1b1 (since the first result when looking their downloads up are on MUGEN ARCHIVE, which is...a little bit not user friendly, unfortunately) If you want to get a roster of characters going, honestly my first suggestion is just look up some franchise you like on google like "mugen street fighter collection" and you'll most likely find a post or two that contains practically every character from it ever. Another good place would be AK1 MUGEN, which mainly hosts and archives downloads for various characters / stages / etc. But it might be harder to find stuff there, unsure... I think that's all I've got with my sleepy brain rn, hope it helps though!! :D

1. I don't think SaltyBet has even added new characters in like 5 years. 2. What does that even mean?? Just because someone put their heart and soul into something flashy and Overpowered means it MUST be for a betting site and not just because they're CARED about the source material?

First off, flashy and overpowered doesn't always mean good, second, most of the time you shouldn't care about being "accurate to the source material" sometimes you have to take creative liberties when making a character, namely one based around any form of media. Wanna know an example? Take Jojo All Star Battle R for instance, when it comes to speculation usually people tend always make the assumption that specific characters can't be in the game because "they don't have enough material" or "they're too overpowered" all the while forgetting that much of the characters are pretty busted themselves, (namely characters like Pucci and Funny Valentine.) and the fact that the other Jojo fighting game featured Khan who was a very fairly minor character or even Devo who originally died within his arc and began possessing a doll that was given to Polnareff but instead in that game, Devo was simply just made into a puppet fighter. And the latter argument of "being too overpowered" would be especially prevalent with Tooru, only for that to immediately dissipate by the time Wonder of U got announced. Basically what I'm saying is that source accuracy doesn't matter, making a moveset that both makes sense for the character while also trying to be fun, engaging and also fair at the same time, is. @@Seth-lt7st

@@somesadnormie5881 Well it's also freakin' MUGEN. Balance doesn't exist outside of what YOU see as balanced and fun. Clearly Z-9 made a playable superboss from a game that is typically HARD. The char is fun in it's own right and wasn't "Designed for a Betting Site." He made it how he wanted it.

You have the right to defend a character as you see fit, but other people have the right to critique it - don't tell someone to go elsewhere because you don't like their rebuttal
