SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D is an Add-in for SOLIDWORKS. It can be added into SOLIDWORKS Standard, Professional, or Premium. Based off of which product of SOLIDWORKS is being used, additional features are then available. SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D does not have levels of the product. It is all inclusive of its electrical functions and when added into SOLDIWORKS utilizes the product specific features of the CAD software.

@@cherylguntzviller6707 I can explain it. I'm at the college. I was studied electronic the hard way, but I had an idea my Solidworks with the electric or PLC.

@@michaelzajac5284 - yes- I have 30 years in Electrical design. SOLIDWORKS Schematic is a way to develop your wiring diagrams - this includes all circuits including wires, cables and harnesses with PLCs, relays, motors and such. We also have a SOLIDWORKS PCB software for electronics and schematics for printed circuit boards. Both softwares can then work with SOLIDWORKS through add-ins to develop further designs in a 3D environment.

There are a number of ways that busbar connections can be created or represented in the software. Using terminals with terminal strip drawings and 3D models, power distribution blocks with schematic symbols and 3D models, distribution blocks with cord sets - just to name a few.

Really is a nightmare to do harness documentation with swe3d, a lot of inconsistencies, if you design kind of automotive harnesses, you better off with this software
