He said if they meet again in the playoffs, we will see a different McVay and a very different Goff....I do not think Goff had a game after this like he had been having before it. I know losing Gurley's impact has impact....But, that team did not play the same...as you said...that different McVay definitely didn't show up at the Super Bowl. I really thought the Super Bowl was a display of offensive ineptitude way more than i thought the media narrative of a defensive showcase was the case.

@brosephh71306 жыл бұрын
Kyle Theune modern sports shows and sportscasters are absolutely unbearable. Clowns like Skip Bayless and Max Kellerman. All these idiots do is create fake narratives, create fake hype, create overreactions and endless drama. You’re either the best in the world or the worst of all time, there is no in between. They always have a token girl on the show so they can feel diverse, and you can tell they don’t know anything about football. It’s so cringy when they talk about anything because it isn’t genuine. There are definitely women that love football and would be qualified to work in that industry, but the ones on these shows sound like they’re coached and memorized a bunch of stats to sound like they know football. Shows on ESPN and FS1 are pandering to the lowest common denominator. The show First Take on ESPN is the worst of them all. It’s so unbearable to watch two annoying personalities trying to out drama each other. Trying to say the most ridiculous thing possible. You’ll rarely see a break down of plays let alone an in depth analysis of the game. The nuances and love for the game, and amount of preparation and execution that goes into every single play. I’m thankful that channels like this exist.

Don't get me wrong Donald is great and what he's doing this season is unprecedented for an interior pass rusher. The Bears did double him because that's the only way you can handle him. Great vid as always. One thing I'd like to point out is that the way Fangio played base against their 11 personnel SHOULD NOT have been a surprise to anyone. This is how Fangio has always preferred to combat 11 personnel, all the way back to his time with the Niners. Teams used to try and out-scheme us and call runs against our nickel package so Fangio would keep our base personnel on the field against 3 WRs. It was a staple of those Harbaugh-led Niner teams. We had 2 uber-athletic ILBs in Willis and Bowman so Fangio would run alot of pattern-matching zone in those instances or just straight man with either Willis or Bowman matched on a WR...and it worked. Granted we had a awesome front 4, who could get pressure but Fangio has always been a fan of going big against 11 personnel to kind of bait the offense into abandoning the run and mixing up coverages behind a stout pass-rush. He's slowly getting that Bears defense in position to play like his Niners teams did. Adding Mack was a essential peice but it's having good, instinctive ILBs who can cover is really the focal point. And with Trevathan and Smith, he has that now. Fangio is a master of making offenses dink and dunk their way down the field. His defense is built on NOT giving up explosive plays and making a offense methodically go down the field. He'll give you the small stuff and but as soon as you try and get greedy, his guys are there, ready to make you pay. Bears fans should rejoice because it will win you more games than not.

As a Rams fan who enjoyed that game as a battle of two defenses playing great shutdown ball (I mean there was one offensive touchdown the entire game), I have to agree. The Media loves their clicks and their hot takes. Bears are a great team, with a superb defense, playing at home, and they flat out outplayed, and out hustled the Rams, just like the Cowboys outplayed and out hustled the Saints. I'm kinda glad the Rams took a humbling loss now, it'll shape them up for the playoffs.

I had a sick feeling going into that game. I LOVE the Rams, have since I was 6 and I could feel it coming. Very hard to watch your team, that I feel has sucked enough, show a tiny glimpse of what suffering I thought was over. A team that scores an average of 32 points...score 2 field goals. It hurt. The Bears did to the Rams the same thing the Giants did to the Bills in the 91 Super Bowl.

Beautiful breakdown of how the Bears broke the back of that Rams offense. Thing is, our linebackers are so unusually fast - at least unusual to have 3 of them - that they can play a corner position with minimal safety help in the middle. When you watch the tape and see how fast Trevathan and Smith are it's almost scary... Reminds me of Butkus. North/South he was like molasses. But from sideline to sideline, he was so quick as they come.

@@Noobsdiee you can't say the rams had a bad défence last year they blew out the sea hawks. I am biased cos I'm a hawks fan but anyone who stops russel Wilson and we had Graham as an end zone monster last year is a good défence and Donald stopped russel u can't argue u had a bad défence. I made that comment before I watched the episode and what I would change is that instead of goff being rattled or intimidated maybe he was cos he was always being rushed. Or maybe becuase he knew the défence was good and wanted to prove he was better I don't know. My point was he is capable of bad performances 😂 so is everyone tbh but goffs first year was awful and no one in LA thought he was staying around except McVay lmao

Bro, he's had two bad games this season. Even with this stinker game, he's got a 100 passer rating on the season with 27 TDs and just shy of 4000 yards on an 11 and 2 team with back to back division titles, and he's...24? Kid is elite. Even GOATS and future HOF QBs like Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Wilson, etc drop ugly deuces of games once in a while. Football is tough. That's why its so fun to watch.

Shane Hackett ehh I wouldn’t say elite yet lol. Jared Goff is good, but when the run game isn’t there, he just doesn’t perform good as well as he would if Gurley is running for 100 yards or more. Needs to show me he can win the game when the running game isn’t there. Which didn’t happen against Chicago but I do expect him to bounce back. But definitely not an elite qb yet let him finish the season
@shanehackett46836 жыл бұрын
@@blakehoule6698 They stopped the run in the Vikings game and Goff had a career high performance. They stopped the run in the Chiefs game and he had his second best performance of the season. They largely stopped the run against the Saints, and Goff had a fantastic game, despite the loss, which was largely on the defense. (if your offense puts up 35 points, you should win.) Again, you have to look at the entire picture, not just a tiny sample size of games that prove your point. It's like denying climate change because the east coast has a cold winter.
@ofcourseuwont6 жыл бұрын
@@shanehackett4683 Exactly. And what quarterback naturally plays better when he doesnt have a run game, meaning he'll usually have to throw 35-60 times? cuz if you cant run the ball, it usually means you're behind early (or you simply can't get a push up front). In Goff's case they couldnt run the ball and he had to throw more because they kept getting put in 2nd and 3rd and longs

After Brett made the comparison of the Rams offense to a ship, it reminded me of a Greek myth where there were 2 rocks that would come together to destroy ships that weren’t being carefully navigated though the rock formation. The Rams offense was a ship and the Bears defense was the rocks, and Jared Goff at the helm of the ship. Since Goff wasn’t careful with the football and wasn’t patient, his offense got crushed by the Bears defense.

0:49 nah there were at least two instances where he called the wrong kind of play/timeout when they had great matchups. I was at the game on the Bears side of the field and there was a point where Cooks was 1-on-1 with almost half the field wide open and McVay called a timeout. I was pissed. Goff missed a lot of the time, ignored open dump offs and 2nd reads. Plus the Bears defense was on point the whole night. Plus it was cold, though there was very little wind, and it was *LOUD* . No excuses, just a tough game and we lost it.
