@@TalksAboutRNG it's the opposite for Vegeta. Goku and Gohan are practically humans, BC they were raised as such and have human connections. So to them power comes in response to a need which would be to protect their loved ones. Vegeta on the other hand is the typical saiyan who that only lived to fight. They didn't have human morals nor their affection hence for them power stems from desire/jealousy etc, bc in Saiyans kind have a superiority complex and when they're faced with someone superior to them, they desire more strength to become better than the opposition. Tl;Dr the quote only works for human-like creatures personality wise, which Saiyans are not.

Listening to stuff like this has resulted in many of the other songs ending up in my playlist occasionally. They all so perfectly capture each character. You can feel gokus freedom and excitement, vegetas reckless abandon and singular focus, gohans is the most complex. As you said you can feel all those emotions, but you can feel their movement too. How one feeds into the other, changing it in the process and passing it along. You feel his childhood and innocence being burned away. I always got the impression that's what really pissed him off. He was sad about what cell was doing to others, but he was PISSED that he had to kill that part of himself to stop cell.

I really wish Gohan had become the main character during this arc. Even Goku himself stated that Gohan had ridiculous amount of talent and potential, much more than him. But the author decided to go back on it, and Gohan just became the son who never truly surpassed his father in the end. I hope if they make a new series, we get Gohan to become the main character.

This composition, to me, completely misses the mark of pauses, strong stop timings and restarts and blend everything into a straight and *flat* piece. It fails to deliver the "Restrained then volcano bursting" kind of feeling from the original. Orchestration is superb and well made, I still had a lot of fun listening to it and contemplating the memories of my past with it. RIP Akiraya Toriyama.

@AnthonyLoReMusic I do appreciate its not the most helpful bit of critique. But Gohan's anger is meant to represent and overflow and then an explosion of emotion and pain given how he didn't want to give in. Because that moment never comes in the track it loses something is all. Again it sounds nice, but in terms of a good Gohans Anger cover, and admittedly there's bloody loads that sound the same or worse, it's lacking that impact it needs to be great.
