Having tested this version, I would definitely recommend giving players control over how long they want to rewind! The forced 3 second rewind feels arbitrary and makes it so that I'd only use the rewind if the ball is about to enter my goal. With more control over the rewind I would have more options for when I want to use the rewind. i.e. Move it slightly back just to the point where I Can get another shot opportunity. To take it even further I would make the rewind ONLY affect the ball and not the players. That way both players can position themselves accordingly if they remember the balls trajectory. This way it forces the players to focus on the balls path and becomes a sort of memory game. While the ball is in rewind I would turn off its collider until the rewind ends. Amazing updates btw, keep it up!

Everything is looking nice and slick. The rewind mechanic is super cool.

The icon popping up with a slight noise effect is really clean. I think this would be a solid effect for other powerups as well. Although, I'm not sure if the cooldown bar fits if the player has more than one powerup available. I enjoyed the quick and focused devlog. Nice work!

Thanks a lot aarimous! There shouldn't be more than one special mode at once, so I guess the cooldown won't be a problem :)

I think keeping the rewind the same duration at all times makes it a bit more fair. The non-activator already gets disrupted, so having two different moments that are out of their control and essentially completely randomly would feel bad I think. At least by keeping the duration consistent, people can internally get a good feel for when the rewind will stop.

Yeah I think you're right! From the playtesting I did, it seems to work well like this
