Well, yeah that's why AAA games, required several people to make you got like 17 jobs in a game dev team. You can make a small indie game alone, but if it has a good amount of content your gonna take years and if it takes off you are gonna need a team to maintain the game, like Stardew Valley, took 4 and a half years to develop, and the dev hired a team after to help him maintain the game, and it's not a AAA game, that's why I'm always in the "don't rush releases" team, even if I'm hyped AF for the game.

video games development require dedication, you to find money that guarantee you will keep focus in expressing yourself through this art , the most complete form of art, game development! It is with humility that I approach to introduce you to my channel, my only intention is to help other game developers, I'm not a KZbinr, enjoy. www.youtube.com/@TheMechanicsofJoy

why do any of this in a prototype state when your going to change the textures and assets later anyway ?
@MrEliptikАй бұрын
Many reasons: - You want to get a feeling for what it's going to look like - You don't want to see stiff gray boxes for ages while you work on it - You want to share your progress on socials and you don't want everything to look like shit - If you setup things correctly, using new assets could be relatively low effort and you can keep the juice you added

I think its hard to make a game and make it sell well. Making a game for fun is easy and really fun. Im just building a game i wish existed and its done when its done and ill sell it to anyone that also wants that type if game and hell ill even post it on pirate sites just to get more people to play. I just want people to have fun playing it even if i lose money making it.

I think good stories and characters makes a good game compelling enough to watch, make, play.......anyone who is struggling finding ideas or writing stories need to read: story, substance by Robert Mckee and anatomy of story by John Turby and then watch the abomination of storytelling, a kdrama, "Hello, me", because it may follow these books but you need more than theories to write stories!
@imarizah39062 ай бұрын
ask me any questions about these books if you don't understand what they mean! because they are not written in very comprehendable language

Friendly reminder that the CEO doesn't need a 300 million dollar bonus and soft. engineers won't be paid as much in the future. Games don't cost that much, intangible new assets (programming) do

Doubt anyone will see this but the number one tip I have for indie game developers is: do the idea on paper first. Literally all you need is a piece of paper and a pencil, do a sketch of what the player will actually be looking at on the screen if the idea was implemented. Chances are you'll be able to tell if it works or not, and you don't have to spend any money or code anything.

I once heard that something like the first high-double digit number of games/apps you make will be garbage and not worth sharing with the world. This inspires me to make as many apps and games as I can possibly make, in the shortest amount of time. I've made about 12-13 apps so far and I'm posting my first soon. This one I'm going to post, I really am attached to emotionally, however I still expect it to be garbage. The big difference for me is that this app will be a full fledged game with a database of users, which stores their progress online and everything. Google authentication and everything. Hopefully one day I do get to the high double digits

A best video about game dev pain, hassle, tension, problem, this is reality and every dev have to face it and he didn't talked about some problem that you have to solve your self because your game will be different from others and you won't find answer to that problem on internet and ai is to dumb for that.

Oh yes definitely! I was thinking of using towers for that but it makes a lot of sense to include them in multi arena setups to force the player to navigate between arenas. Thanks!
