Pan de Sal. You two are bringing back fond memories for me. My late Asawa and I would go to the movies, and after the movie was over, there was a bakery nearby where we would purchase a bag full of freshly baked Pan de Sal, still warm from the oven. When we got home, we did not have coffee cups so we would use glasses instead and fill them with coffee. Back then I was still putting cream and sugar in my coffee. There was nothing better than fresh, out of the oven, Pan de Sal, and coffee drank from a glass. There is an Asian store in Lexington, Kentucky, where I can buy it, but it is in a bag and not freshly baked.

That’s my go too breakfast fresh hot pandesal with my coffee. I remember when I was in Manila back in 2019 there was a bakery close to my hotel I would go there every morning get me a dozen small pandesal then walk to Starbucks get my coffee sit and just watch people walking and getting to work. I think I ate all 12..lol so damn delicious. What I grew up eating as a little living in my province long long time ago.

Tom…buy her a new washing machine, and maybe even a dryer if there is enough power available for a dryer. Good God! So many memories to comment on. My Asawa grew up doing laundry by hand. As a result, the palms of her hands became rough. When she came to the U.S., we went to my maternal grandparents home. In their basement was an old fashioned ringer washing machine. She washed our clothes with it and she thought it was the greatest thing. Little did she know that there were modern washing machines available. It was my grandfather who bought her one. When the lid was open it would not run unless the lid was closed. I bypassed the switch that would prevent it from running with the lid open, so she could watch it washing our clothes. It was like she was watching a TV show. Next, when you put water in the rice cooker and you stuck our fingers in it to make sure it had the right amount of water, my Asawa did the same thing.

Yeah my Filipino girlfriend is big on washing clothes. When I visit Singapore we always end at the laundry matt cleaning clothes. She says new fresh clothes every day she plans each day what I will be wearing. 😊

Lay fixing the washer is a simple task you might need to pay a man to do it thought. The agitator and spin is not working could be one of two things. The pin snapped or needs a new motor. But from the looks of that might be better off just getting a new one . I have the same problem and well it is best for me to just buy a new washer The one I have is about 20 years old .But my washing machine is huge I can wash a king size comforter in mine.

Philippines felt like home for me as a American BGC is amazing so are the province like up in Cebu daanbantayan was a amazing small town and the kandaya Resort it was amazing i would go back to Cebu just for daanbantayan province area

one of the best washing machines i used recently In Siargao Island was a Sony blue lid a very basic machine, filled it water from a tap - turn the timer on then it washes , drain out the machine by dropping the hose on the ground or drain , repeat to rinse you have to squeeze them out after😆, nothing to go wrong as with modern machines...........no clothes dryers needed , as the air dries the clothes for free...

Good to see you're back for the hoiliday.. When frying fish i usually put a bit of salt on the pan (with oil in it) the fish is cooked good. I also use coco mama for any menu that needs coconut milk.. Yummy graham😋

It is quite interesting that I live near an area here in the Dallas metro area with a large Phillipines expat community and there are at least two bakeries that sell all the traditional Phillipino items like pan de Sal and other things and there is a Jolibees nearby and a number of Phillipino restaurants! 🤔

Liza knows how to make this. Condensed milk mixture with Graham biscuits and fresh slices of mango n Graham crushed pieces layer upon layer n frozen ❤❤❤

That's margarine, not butter? Most small stores don't sell butter, as it's costly by comparison. Any SM supermarket, or major supermarket, will have plenty of butter choices. The best seems to be Queensland Dairy. Kerrygold is silly expensive. You can buy 2.5 x Queensland Dairy for the same as 1 x Kerrygold! Cut the rice out and replace it with more veg! Then Tom goes and stuff himself with dessert. What a diet! lol And another load of rice at dinner!

I am not a sweet eater although I do a lot of baking I just don't eat most of what I bake. I am also a picky eater and well I don't really eat anything with the bones or the head or the insides of the animal. Most of the chicken I eat is Boneless skinless and no lips. I don't eat fish heads and fish feet. Long story short. Back when I was in college the school was having a huge pig roast. Well When it was time for use to go eat we were all sitting at the table with mix boys and girls and well my table had more girls then guys and there was a damn pig head and all with an apple in it's mouth. I was telling a story about how that pig was doing everything it could to take care of it's family. How it would look for food to feed its kids and how it tried hard to make sure all his little boys and girls were taken care of with the hopes they would have a nice Education and be able to take care of their own kids. Then I lifted the pigs butt and said OMG this was the Mom and it had Babies in there. The killed the Mother pig. Now the babies are all going to starve. I said listen close your eyes and you can hear the baby pigs crying for their mom and I bet what we don't eat they are going to feed their mother to the babies. The girls at the table I was at all started to cry and they didn't want to eat that pig . They got up and left. I acted like I was so sad for the baby pigs and walked away from the table. I had to walk away I had all I could do to not laugh in front of everyone. Then my R.A. walked up to me and said I heard what you did at the table. I smiled and he said you A.H.🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
